Nashville Announces Three International Signings

As the Stars' organization continues to build their farm system with three international signings. These signings included catching prospect, Edgar Arbelaez and OF prospect Jesus Morales. Both of these prospects are regarded as top 5 international free agents.

Catcher, Edgar Arbelaez, is the 4th ranked international free agent in this year's signing class. He is a 6'4", 185 lbs. 16 year old from Mexico who signed with Nashville for $1,900,000. He's a right handed hitter and he throws with his right hand. Arbelaez has big time upside at the plate. He has an 80 grade potential hit tool/eye discipline. Arbelaez has 60 grade power and a 50 grade on his ability to avoid strikeouts. Defensively, Arbelaez has a potential 60 grade arm and potential 65 grade defensive ability behind the plate. His MLB ETA is currently listed at a 2026 debut. OSA's scouting report states this:

Mexican catcher Edgar Arbelaez was born in Culiacan. He has superior vision at the plate and projects to hit for high contact. He could develop one of the best eyes in the game. He is a very good defensive catcher in all areas. Arbelaez is projected to be an elite starting catcher.

Outfielder, Jesus Morales, is the 5th ranked international free agent in his year's signing class. He's also 6'4", and weighs in at 180 lbs. as a 16 year old from the Dominican Republic. Morales signed with Nashville for $2,400,000 and he bats and throws lefty. Morales has the potential to be an absolute unicorn. At 6'4", he has 75 grade potential as a power hitter and also a 75 potential grade for his hit tool. What's so special about him is his current 65 graded speed tool. He just has phenomenal offensive profile. Plus, his speed helps him cover a lot of ground in center field. He has the ability to play any of the three outfield spots, which will certainly help him as he ascends through the minors. Morales also has an MLB ETA currently listed at a 2026 debut. OSA's scouting report states this:

He is a rare talent with a chance to hit for plus-plus contact with a silky-smooth swing with plenty of stick speed. His power potential grades out as plus-plus. The ball explodes off his bat. He has plus speed that will put pressure on the defense. Morales has a high ceiling and projects well on the field and at the plate.

The Stars wanted to sign, at least, one pitcher in this year's international signing class. And they were able to do that with the addition of RHP flamethrower, Santiago Cardoza. Cardoza is a 6'6", 200 lbs. 17 year old from the Dominican Republic. He was rated as the #28 player in this year's international signing class and he signed with Nashville for $330,000. Cardoza is extremely raw at the moment as he has little control. However, he already has a 4 pitch mix and has a potential 70 grade fastball and a potential 75 grade slider. His Changeup and Sinker are his weaker pitches. But, at 17 years of age, there is obviously time to improve in those areas. A major plus to this is that he can already touch 96 MPH on his fastball. OSA's scouting report states this:

Santiago Cardoza is a big 6'6", 200 lbs. starting pitcher from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. At his peak, his repertoire should include a slider that will make all but the best hitters miss, a fastball with explosive life, a decent sinker, and a decent changeup. His stuff is projected to become elite once he fully matures. Cardoza has the stuff to become a number three or number four starter.
