Given the crowds just before the pandemic, then again they weren't focused on holding shows internationally but I wonder how they would have done doing international shows much sooner. Have to think WWE regrets not doing these big international shows 5-20 years sooner.
Something about the 10s made WWE go super USA with the shows. Even Canada for the first half of the 10s got very little shows, no PPVs at all in Canada for 7 years.

The 00s was great for these shows. Santino debuting in Italy is still one of the great international Raw moments.

I wonder if they'd be more interested in doing international Raws (and SDs, though that's on USA) once going to Netflix? SD was live in France and other places before airing on delay over here. If you're on Netflix, maybe you just air it live globally since you're not exactly restricted to a specific timeslot.

Yeah, and it sucks trying to watch games on those days where there's tons of distractions. But who cares if anyone's paying attention so long as the stream is on and they get their rating or view.

I guess different families do things differently re: gatherings.

Oh well.

It's not a permanent thing either, they're just trying it one year revolving around Easter and seeing how it does. We'll see when the time comes what the numbers end up being.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Not a surprise or really new info, but seems WWE is going harder at the "bid for WM" stuff. Wouldn't be surprised if that's the case for other events too like we saw with Anaheim/Honda Center signing a deal.

Cities have had to bid for it for years, but now that really seems to be ramped up. Probably needing a full on proposal from cities with the stadium, all hotels available for talent and tourists, locations to hold their WM World fan stuff, arena for SD/HOF/NXT/Raw among other stuff.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

Funny story about HHH in WCW. He revealed Ric Flair had an idea for him in WCW.

Jean Paul Levesque, the French speaking wrestler.

Except he doesn't speak French, which Flair didn't know.

Which led to him just doing fake French accents instead.

You almost forget these guys were not only in WCW, but actually interacting with big names at the time too. Never realized HHH and Flair met before WWE.

Re: WWE Off-Topic

SA wants to get a Rumble or WM as part of their current deal with WWE.

Seeing how WWE is giving WM to the highest bidder, would anyone be surprised if they just jumped in and offered some insane amount and got it?

At the same time, a 7 hour time difference, would WWE start Wrestlemania at 1pm ET (10am PT)? With NXT as well, you'd be having a 7am NXT PLE or something, and Raw after WM even if it's on Netflix it would still be airing on a Monday afternoon over here.

The Rumble however I could see them getting.

Forget Mania and the actual Rumble, they can get Strowman defending his title in the Greaterest Royal Rumble
