Re: WWE Off-Topic

One, I hope nobody here really cares that much about Dave Meltzer.

Two, he's actually got a pretty sweet deal. Being right sometimes adds to your credibility and being wrong sometimes gets chalked up to someone else changing their mind.

Everytime I think of Dave Meltzer, I think of the time he said CM Punk was showing up on the Hijack Raw.

"While Meltzer won't say he's 100% sure Punk will be at the show, his source, who he says is "one of the biggest stars in the industry," said that it's 100% certain."

See how he gave himself an out?

"I'm not 100% sure, but bank on it...………...unless I'm wrong."

An article that recaps instead of using a full quote is not solid enough to reference.

Obviously he leaves himself an out on things (because as I said, the stuff he's wrong about can always be blamed on Vince), but an example that at best basically amounts to 'my source says it's 100%, but I'm not as sure' is a bad one to use.

And going back six years? ****. We're reaching for this one.

Fine let's talk about Marty Scurll and his impending FA for the last 3-4 months. Dave said that Marty's ROH contract was up in late Nov and but he agreed to work through Final Battle (all true). Then after that Dave was certain he was leaving ROH to head for AEW. There was teases of Marty going in BTE, Dave was reporting that he's going to be the leader of the Dark Order, etc. Then Final Battle and the fallout tapings come and go, Dave's still riding this wave. Marty says at the end of those tapings, he's thankful for all the fan support towards himself + ROH and he's looking forward to big things in ROH next year (2020). All the while Dave is still reporting he's going to AEW. Note through all of this Marty still holds ROH gold (6 man Tag titles with his Villain Enterprises stablemates) and there's been 0 advertisements for him to defend those belts at any point soon. Then Dave finally becomes more reluctant to the idea that Marty is going to say about a month ago, saying he's heard there's a chance that Marty will stay with ROH but still thinks he could head to AEW.

Nah, not doing that. No reason to because I wasn't even defending him so the conversation is pointless.

I said when I think of Dave Meltzer, not what he has done lately.

And for someone not defending Meltzer, you sure are defending Meltzer.

And since the article wasn't enough for you, here's the full audio.

"I expect him to be at Raw."
