That counter was a thing of beauty.

Fully expect Croatian shenanigans before this one is over, though.

Lol, never mind.

Several French players coming up sick before the semifinal.

A lot of respiratory stuff going around in Qatar.

Alvarez

That’s how you know things are going to go your way.
I think that's a pen, if he just continues his run he gets fouled by the GK, so by not giving him a pen you're penalizing him for trying to get a shot off and avoid it. It's one of those where you're right in that they normally don't give it, but if diving is a problem we're actually trying to get rid of, I think those are the calls that need to be made. Otherwise it's just always better to go down.

Argentina just had too much class today, Croatia never recovered after conceding that second goal.

I thought for much of the 1st half Croatia won the mid-field battle and opened up Argentina's defense, but they couldn't crack the last line of defense and the attacks bogged down allowing Argentina to get people behind and then spring counter attacks.

Croatia missed Mandzukic from 4 years ago. There's just really no one to replace him.

It's going to really suck if Messi loses another World Cup final lol. His last shot.

Underrated striker for sure.

Croatia has had a dynasty... it will be interesting to see if they can keep it going... but they deserve an awful lot of respect and to be mentioned among the powers of this generation

CNN recently posted a pretty good, concise editorial on this: https://edition.cnn.com/2022/12/12/f...d-cup-spt-intl. This WC has finally got me interested in their league because I'd like to see where a lot of the young guys come from and how the country is able to develop players so well.
