Not surprising that as more news comes out, Auba looks better. Returned late from traveling abroad for personal reasons after he was granted permission to travel. Wasn't like he just sat at home and skipped training.

Say what you want regarding Auba's responsibility of returning late—I think part of man management has to also be knowing when to not rigidly ahdere to your rules and regulations when you know it could further damage a possibly fractured relationship.

My thoughts still stand, however—there's a history of Arteta seemingly unable to not have issues with certain players, or even worse, his constant rewarding before stripping it away. Remember when AMN got chances in midfield and was playing well? What happened to him? That's right, every day Arteta questions himself, then double questions, then decides he has to start over entirely.

Still very much in line for a vital sixth-place finish. Forget the whole nonsense about "are we a top-four" side because uh, no, we're not. But we're putting ourselves in position for sixth which is absurdly important. Big, big run coming up.

Massive game against West Ham on Wednesday followed by Leeds, Norwich, Wolves before Man City (which is a loss).

No clue why it isn’t (already) Tierney. Ramsdale too soon I think.

Next year better be both of them though for sure.

Poor selection, really, and lack of overt leadership amongst players. Auba was only captain due to being vice-captain after Xhaka lost it, but players still voted for that, apparently.

I'm not joking—if it's given to Xhaka, I don't know if I can watch the team for, well, a few weeks, at least. He was openly flirting with Roma and Mourinho this Summer. It would be an utter embarrassment to give it back to him.

Give it to Ødegaard. That's the clear choice to me. He's young, but the entire squad is young and he already captains Norway.

Oh, they've also already announced Auba will not play against West Ham. I assume that means he's still yet to be invited back to training.
