I don't think I've been that enraged over a match in quite some time. We've had bad losses, but this one really makes me mad since the video referee who had access to watching video and could watch it multiple times and speed it up and slow it down decided that was, indeed, a penalty.

In what world!?

A 0-0 draw would've been a fair result without ref ****housery.

Really atrocious refereeing there honestly.

That being said, United having shady penalty decisions go against them at Old Trafford definitely feels a bit…poetic?

Graham Potter starts with a back 4 for Chelsea.

This is his first ever experience at a Champions League game. He has not even been in attendance to a CL match prior to tonight.

Random questions: Why does it seem like crowds are more “live” in other countries compared to English Crowds? Like I watch these crowds in Germany, Italy, Spain and it just seems like they’re more louder, even as visiting fans against English Clubs.

Anfield only really gets fully up for knockout stages of the Champions League and Manchester United. Everton is always early so people can't get too drunk before the match, so that's a bit quieter. If City is a night match and it's close in the standings, that's another time too. EDIT: Same with Chelsea as City.

There are certain English clubs that always have loud fans. Crystal Palace is one.

Great strike from John Stones!

Edit: And Haaland again. The guy is a beast.

Because the fire that fuels English football fans is resentment and the failure of their neighbor above all else lol. Other countries treat their home matches like a festival/church, while in England it is heckling and rooting for failure that feeds the joy. It's the only country I can think of that LOUDLY cheers when an away player misses the target by a mile and makes a fool of himself. Mostly talking about the bigger clubs here.
