Wrong. It'll be Scotiabank, Honda, Discover, MassMututal.

Seriously. Good news at least is that it helps the league financially, and the official division names will still be North, east, central, west.

Scotiabank North Division
MassMututal East Division
Honda West Division
Discover Central Division
I will not have the long and regal history of the MassMutual division sullied by a small but vocal anti-Discover contingent.

Stolen from someone else (I think Friedman?), but if a deal happens between Discover and Scotiabank division, do we call it an e-transfer?

Even if it was a intrasquad game, was nice getting hockey back. Will be weird seeing not as meaningful games (compared to the playoff games in the bubble) with no fans.

Excited to see what Leafs can do this year. Would be the most Leaf thing ever if the year they finally break the cup curse, it comes with no fans for the entire season and no parade. Although I'd be fine with that if it means they get a cup.

MassMurder East Division?

That would have been the Mutant Hockey League equivalent.

That's good news. Hopefully TSN doesn't think of picking him up.

I also read Babcock will be part of their studio coverage. That'll be interesting.

Whatever his faults may have been, I generally liked Babcock's press conferences. He had a bit of a Bellichick-ian streak to him, and would often times just answer whatever question he felt like answering no matter what was asked. Like a good politician!

One of my favorite exchanges:

Media: "How would you assess your team's poise and confidence after tonight's win?"

Babcock: "Well, I'd assess it like this: we're up 3-1 and we're headed back home for the series. Next question."

LOL.

Re: The Official 2020-2021 Season Talk Thread

Cant believe it's less than 2 days away from season opener!

Even though we had NHL playoffs in the summer, it didnt really feel like hockey season.

It's been 10 months since we've had regular season hockey, I'm ready to have NHL take over my tvguide as the pandemic made me realize how little I missed many of the shows I watched.

My picks for the season:
North: Leafs, Oilers, Flames, Jets
East: Caps, Pens, Bruins, Flyers
Central: Lightning, Stars, Preds, Canes
West: Avs, Knights, Blues, Wild

What's the playoff seedings like? I know the first 2 rounds are series within the division and each division has 1 in the conference finals, but how do conference finals end up? Theres no conferences, so is it just seeding 1,2,3,4 for the conference finals determined by regular season point percentage?

If so, we probably could still have Lightning vs Avs in the finals, unless they end up squaring off in the conference finals.
