Canucks now 4-17 in postseason games since going up 2-0 in the 2011 Final. Solid.

Re: The Official NHL 2019-2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs Thread

Watching the canucks make me so frustrated. Giving away easy penalties and when they get a PP they put too many men on the ice... That's junior stuff...

Also the way EP gets treated and has been for the last half of the season without the officials making much out of it... Imagine Gretzky being pushed around like that back in the day. McSorley & co would have punished the opponents so badly if the ref didn't act.

This looks like an easy series win for Minnesota in my opinion. Vancouver had so much puck but they didn't really feel dangerous at all just like in the exhibition game.

It's classic playoff hockey though, now all the "fun" teams will drop out since the refs don't call penalties anymore.

Score 1-0 STL. Welcome back Hockey, you've been missed.

Are the Blues considered the home team for this? I heard our horn and goal song when it was scored, so I suppose so...?

Avs were the home team.

But they did seem to be playing both teams goal horns for some reason.

If Columbus can move Murry or Nuti with Anderson for a 2C or low end 1C theyll be dangerous. Though if they get 1OA they could look at Stutzle.

Nice to already have the series villain that I can irrationally dislike! Boo Ferland!

I had a good laugh at that. Apparently a little rusty on the communication.

Also, if you think this will be an easy win for Vancouver, I’d like to remind you that we are a Minnesota team competing in a playoffs. There will be some MN Sports hijinks at some point.

Oh, it's not irrational. But what can you expect from someone who can't even spell his own name?

And once the Canucks lose, Benning's/Green's "solution" will be to overpay more Ferland-types. Vancouver's D (minus Hughes) and bottom 6 are AHL quality. That this team is capped out with "proven winners" and still have to pay Pettersson a giant contract is a disgrace.

EDIT: I took a look to see if I ever commented on the 2003 Wild/Canucks series in these forums. Apparently not - I didn't really post much here until EA first gave me the boot in 2006.

Anyway, I'll comment on that series now, 17 years after the fact: F*** Dan Cloutier.

I finally succumbed to subscribing to The Athletic this weekend, and the first piece that I read was a recounting of that series by some of the participants (from what I remember, Crawford, Walz, Bertuzzi, Cloutier, among a couple others). Really interesting stuff in there.
