This is all the Pens fault.

That game at the end of the season where if they won vs the Hawks they'd make the playoffs, the Panthers wouldn't, and Hawks would've been dead last in the league meaning the Ducks would be the 2nd overall lottery team and would've won the lottery.

I think the 3-spot won the lottery, meaning Columbus would've gotten Bedard in your scenario. I was half-pulling for the Jackets to win just to see how many dozens of new OS accounts Ohio SuperFan would create over the next few years.

NHLPA investigating the relationship between Dubas and his agent in terms of a conflict of interest due to his agent representing the same agency as notable NHL players, Auston Matthews being one of them.

Given the random timing of this, did the Leafs do him dirty and bring it up to the league as an issue?

I never knew GMs had agents until Shanahan was talking about Dubas and his agent. But if all guys have agents, isn't there a "conflict of interest" all over since I doubt everyone else is part of agencies not connected to any other player.

But also, if THIS is considered an investigation worthy issue in the NHL, how are many of these way worse issues we see in the NHL basically just brushed under the rug (the Blackhawks probably got the biggest punishment, and even that one people felt was light AND the guys gone from the league might be reinstated)

Latvia defeats the US in OT for bronze, wins their 1st ever medal in a high-level IIHF event! Win or lose later tonight, Germany will win it's 1st WHC medal since 1953. Even though the traditional powers aren't exactly sending strong rosters these days, it's nice to see hockey's minnows get their day in the sun.

The world hockey championships used to be better but feels like less and less bigger names show up for these vs before.
