Bill Daley laid down the hammer; a decision has to be made by July 2nd.
If no deal, Coyotes are gone.

Bill Daly: Good Guy? (Besides to PHX fans)

Strange world.

They've given Phoenix everything they can. It's been past the point of being fair to themselves and most importantly the fans. I'm sure they want closure whether that's staying in the desert or headed elsewhere.

I actually think Daly is a pretty good guy. In interviews i've heard with him he seems a lot more flexible but he knows where his bread is buttered and has to toady up to Bettman. I bet if Daly were running things, half the crap that's going on in the boardrooms of the NHL wouldn't be there.

Glad to see the NHL laying down the law now though. If the team moves to Seattle i'd name em the Slew you know, after the horse. Okay, maybe not

The Hockey Panel on TSN reported that July 2nd is the absolute drop-dead date.
I believe the quote was "If they refuse to respect the July 2nd date, we're moving on".

Whether they stay or remain, it'll be nice to get this drama over with.

One more day. This has been years in the "making", so to speak.

NHLPA informs members that Seattle is most likely destination for Coyotes:

Quote:
If RSE does not secure the financing, or if the City Council does not vote to approve the proposed lease, our understanding is that the League would immediately pursue one of several back-up alternatives which likely would entail a prompt relocation of the franchise. While there are several potential cities which the team might be relocated, it appears that Seattle is the most likely.

Wonder what a Seattle team would be named. How about the Seattle Salmon? They could wear pink jerseys at home.

Seattle's WHL team has always had a cool logo and color scheme:

I use those uniforms a lot playing online team play in EA NHL games.
