Per CBSsports:

"After a slow start to the 2023-24 season, the Minnesota Wild have fired head coach Dean Evason. He will be replaced immediately by former New Jersey Devils and Nashville Predators coach John Hynes..."

Watching the Red Wings-Wild game yesterday, Evason definitely had the look of someone on their way out. He was visibly distraught/depressed on the bench during the latter part of that game, and pretty much looked like a guy who knew he was on the way out. The Detroit announcers stopped just short of openly speculating that he'd be gone soon....it was that apparent to casual onlookers.

Patrick Kane to the Wings.

Given the standings right now, the Wings could upset one of Leafs,Lightning,Panthers and knock them out of the 3rd division spot by the end of the season.

Perry has been placed on waivers and if not claimed, chicago will release him. The reasoning is still very vague, just that he broke some code of conduct. So the rumors won’t get any quieter, lol.

“engaged in conduct that is unacceptable, and in violation both of the terms of his Contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments”

Seems like it could be some type of hazing, which could include some bit of truth of the rumors of Bedard’s mom being involved, lol. Maybe he did something lewd with her as the centerpiece (I’m thinking he had a cutout of her made and… yeah) to haze his rookie teammate. Who knows.

The truth is likely a little more boring. From someone with league connections: Perry got ****faced and made a bad pass at a female Hawks employee, then claimed to have no memory of this the next day. If I'm being charitable to Chicago, I'd guess the cloak and dagger stuff is to protect the identity of the staffer from online abuse, etc., somewhat similar to to Ime Udoka situation. If I'm being less charitable (these are the Blackhawks, after all), the delay could be from the Hawks seeing if the situation could be resolved from within (ie, the female employee "getting over it").
