edit: I doubt they were scoreboard watching, that was too close, Philly was in 2 points in regulation or gtfo mode

Re: The Official 2023-24 Season Talk Thread

That was a pretty cool wild & wooly penultimate night of the regular season. Obviously I wish it would have turned out differently, but scoring with 3 seconds left to keep your playoff hopes alive (however briefly) was about as excited as I've gotten about a regular season hockey game in decades.

It was nice to be stressing with the Wings again after what seems like forever, although you have to wonder what would've happened if they just could've won one more game somewhere over the past 2 months' worth of swan dives. Stevie Y is on the hot seat next year as far as I'm concerned.

Rangers-Wings not happening probably saves me a ton of money, though, because there's no way I don't go to at least 1-2 of those games.

Re: The Official 2023-24 Season Talk Thread

Matthews season ends at 69.

Matthews tried everything he could to get 70.

The rest of the Leafs tried everything they could to score. Not to help Matthews score, but for themselves to score....

Kings were poised to face the Oilers in the 1st round for the 3rd straight year, then they allowed 3 straight goals in a span of 5 minutes. IMO I would rather face the Oilers than the Stars but what do I know.

Stars/Knights/Avs/Jets in one bracket, 3 garbage goalies and a Vezina winner.

It's destiny.

21/22 Kings vs Oilers:
Oilers finished 2nd in division with 49-27-6 record (a western Canadian rival finished 1st)

Kings finished 3rd in division with 44-27-11 record (Vegas finished 4th)

23/24 Kings vs Oilers:
Oilers finished 2nd in division with 49-27-6 record (a western Canadian rival finished 1st)

Kings finished 3rd in division with 44-27-11 record (Vegas finished 4th)
