I'm not sure if it's being #2 in the conference gets you locked into coaching the ASG. It's a nice gesture to give Griffin the rewards. But, Doc has never liked coaching the ASG even with the Sixers. He knows it's not a serious game and he'd rather go on vacation and golf lol

There are random dumb rules now for the AS game and this is one of them.

A coach can't coach 2 yrs in a row, so, by default, Rivers is next in line with Bucks second best record in East.

I liked that he said the assistant's can coach and he will go on vacation.

In a perfect world, he can come back with 2-3 weeks to ramp up for the playoffs. But, I rather get the surgery and try to be as healthy as he can be for playoffs.

Hopefully they can tread water and stay at least out of the play-in. I don't want to call the season a wash just yet. I wonder how they will approach the trade deadline. I don't just want to stand pat. I don't like the Cap Space Path by just standing path. Most of the key free agents and likely staying put and don't want to bank on trading for the next disgruntled star. Ideally, Sixers need a semi-starter/backup Center and another wing player.
