I've seen both numbers. Maybe his last most recent extension increased to 4%.

I honestly did not know that.

Its about the current contracts and roster status of players. We all knew this was an all in year because of what's coming up with expiring contracts.
Yeah that's true but I mean, Beane's been there for YEARS and if they're going to reboot again might as well try a different approach but knowing that he's a part owner, forget what I said

What approach would you suggest?

Most MLB playoff appearances since Beane's 1st season as GM (1998):

Yankees (14)
Braves (11)
Cardinals (10)
Red Sox (9)
A's (8)

Where the A's postseason teams have ranked in payroll out of 30 teams during the Beane era:

25th (2000)
29th (2001)
28th (2002)
23rd (2003)
22nd (2006)
29th (2012)
27th (2013)
25th (2014)

re: MLB Off-Topic

I'm just saying that sometimes a different pair of eyes and a slightly different philosophy might be a good way to freshen up the franchise. Yeah the salary restrictions hurt them a lot so maybe that might not be the best idea in the world. No one stays in one role forever, even John Schuerholtz stopped being the GM of the Braves after being in that role for years.

I'm not saying throw him to the curb. All i'm saying is that a possible idea would be to change the person on top.

re: MLB Off-Topic

Making any change to Beane's current role would be pretty awful imo.
