LIGA Adelante Match at R. Sociedad (3-1-0)

Starting Eleven:
GK - F. Assmann
DR - S. Pignol
DL - G. Beranger
DC - *Samuel
DC - D. Garcia
MR - S. Darino
ML - A. Cejudo
MC - Josico
MC- Jorge
ST - M. Marquez
ST - Guayre

Subs - Pindado, Juanpa, A. Lamas, J. Guerrero, S. Rondon, M. Garcia, S. Suarez

First Half

6' - A deep cross for R. Sociedad leads to a header goal by Xabi Prieto!
11' - A great through ball by R. Sociedad's Rivas sets up another goal, this time by Imanol Agirretxe! We dig a quick 2-0 hole.
19 - Cejudo receives a yellow card for tripping near midfield.
35' - Another through ball by R. Sociedad and Agirretxe has his 2nd goal of the match, we now trail 3-0!
36' - We quickly get the ball forward and Marquez finally gets free he blasts one past the keeper but its off the cross bar!
41' - Another great opportunity for Marquez and this time he hits the post!

Half Time

A painful first half and we trail 3-0, we have simply been outmatched to this point. We were hoping the cold weather and the rain would neutralize their speed some but it hasn't to this point. After their 3rd goal they seemed to have taken the foot off the gas and statistically things look closer. They have 11 shots with 5 on target, while we had 7 shots with 4 on target. The missed opportunities by Marquez are killing us as we try to get back in it. We will bring in Rondon to replace Jorge to give us more fire power.

Second Half

56' - Javi Guerrero comes in for Darino to hopefully ignite something offensively.
60' - A great cross by Guayre leads to a header shot by Berlanger but he misses the open net and his shot sails wide.
68' - Rondon with a great run into their area but he cannot finish.
83' - Sergio Suarez comes in for Cejudo.
90+4' - Samuel goes down with an injury and has to leave.

Final
R. Sociedad 3 : 0 Las Palmas

As exciting as the first half was, the 2nd half was boring. Neither team had a lot of opportunities despite our attempts at creating them. We ended up with 15 shots and 5 on target, while they had 17 shots with 6 on target. They dominated possession for the game with a 59% to 41% advantage. Our passing was horrible at 61%.

Man of the Match: Imanol Agirretxe (8.8 f/t rating, 2 goals)

After the match we learn that Samuel has suffered a torn calf muscle. He will be out for up to 5 months. Tough luck for him since this was his first start after taking over for Lamas.

Our next match is on September 26 at home against Cordoba, we are heavy favorites.
ouch, thats a nasty loss

ML - A. Cejudo
MC - Josico
MC - Jorge
ST - M. Marquez
ST - Guayre

First Half

17' - Cordoba gets the matches first quality opportunity on a through ball but before Carpintero gets the shot off Assmann plays the ball and smothers it!
22' - Jorge strikes a free kick from near mid field and almost scores on it. A sweeping shot right to left to barely stopped by the Cordoba goalkeeper.
32'- We work the ball close to their area and Marquez fires a shot but misses just wide!!
38' - Cordoba sends a long pass forward to Carpintero and he gets behind our defense and makes us pay with the goal!

Half Time

Carpintero's goal leaves us trailing 1-0 at the half, but we have had control of the match. We have 8 shots to their 3 and we have dominated possession 56% to 44%. We decide to tweak our formation to get more players into the final 3rd.

Second Half

50' - We turn it over in our own area and Cordoba's Asen gets control and fires but its wide!

Not much action in the 2nd half, any action was on our side but we failed to finish. We finished with 12 shots, 6 on goal. Cordoba had 7 shots with 3 on goal.

Man of the Match: David Garca (8.1 f/t rating, 1 goal)

To summarize, the board is satisfied with Jesus's coaching of the team.

They have been concerned with Las Palmas' heavy 0-3 LIGA Adelante defeat against R. Sociedad.

However, the board is pleased to see that the fans believe letting Saul leave the club to be a fairly good decision.

The club recorded a $216K loss last month.

Monthly Turnover: $1.52M
Previous Month: $2.17M
Main Income: Gate Receipts $580K

Monthly Expenditure: $1.73M
Previous Month: $1.39M

LIGA Adelante Match at Hercules (4-1-1, 4th)

Starting Eleven:
GK - F. Assmann
DR - S. Pignol
DL - G. Beranger
DC - Juanpa
DC - D. Garcia
ML - A. Cejudo
MC - Josico
MC - Jorge
ST - M. Marquez
ST - Guayre

Subs - Pindado, F. Suarez, A. Lamas, J. Guerrero, S. Rondon, M. Garcia, D. Lopez

First Half

5' - Hercules midfielder Melli receives the ball at the top of the penalty area and blast a shot bending right to left and sneaks it past Assmann.
8' - Guayre makes a nice move with the ball and finds himself with an open shot but he gets denied! Darino with the ball after the deflection and he gets tackled hard before he can shoot, but no penalty is called!!
10' - A steal by Jorge and he passes it up to Josica who heads it on to Marquez. Marquez receives the ball deep in the penalty area and plays it into the back of the net!!
29' - A give and go play by Hercules leads to a great shot but Assmann dives to his right to deflect it wide of the goal!
44' - We catch a break as a Hercules shot gets past Assmann but hits the cross bar!

Half Time

We did a good job of adjusting to their attack after their first goal and after the first 45 minutes we are tied a 1. Lamas will come in for a struggling Juanpa. They have a lot more shots than us, 10 shots to our 4 but 7 of their shots are "long shots". Both teams have 2 shots on target. Are passing has been very solid at 75% but they are winning 88% of their tackles.

Second Half

50' - A long shot from Hercules' Delibasic catches Assmann sleeping and they score from 35 yards out!
56' - Rondon comes in for Jorge.
58' - Another long shot from Hercules and this time Assmann miss plays it but he gets just enough of it to allow Lamas to clear it just before the ball crosses the goal! On the ensuing corner kick they get a header goal from Rodri!
62' - We respond right away after a great pass by Rondon leads to a goal by Guayre!!
65' - Dani Lopez comes in for Beranger.
66' - Hercules' Farinos blasts a shot from 30 yards out and he scores to the opposite corner of the net!
68' - Lopez's corner kick is header high of the goal by Rondon! We miss a great opportunity there!
73' - David Garcia receives a yellow card, but he saved a sure goal.
74' - Unbelievable, another long shot by Hercules finds the net! Rodri's 2nd goal of the match.
82' - Hercules' Paco Pena receives a yellow card for tripping Marquez.
86' - Pignol has a great cross but their keeper deflects Marquez's header opportunity.
90' - Hercules' Tiago Gomes receives a yellow card for a hard tackle.
90+2' - A great pass leads to a point blank shot by Cejudo but he gets denied and Guayre fires a shot off the rebound and he gets denied as well!!

Final
Hercules 5 : 2 Las Palmas

Wow, that was an ugly 2nd half there. The odd thing is we controlled possession and really improved in every area but they managed 4 long goals. They had 22 shots with 13 being from long range. We ended up with 13 shots and 6 on target. Individually we had a lot of bad performances with Pignol, Beranger, Juanpa, and Lamas all scoring under 6 for f/t rating. The only bring spot was Marquez, he had a 7.4 f/t rating.

Man of the Match: Francisco Javier Farinos (Hercules) (9.3 f/t rating, 1 goal, 3 assists)

Our next match is on October 7 against Corboda in the Spanish Cup (3rd Rd).

Spanish Cup (3rd Round) Match at Cordoba

Previous Meeting(s): 1-1 Draw (9/26/09)

Starting Eleven:
GK - F. Assmann
DR - Juanpa
DL - D. Lopez
DC - S. Pignol
DC - D. Garcia
DMC - Josico
MR - S. Darino
ML - A. Cejudo
MC - Jorge
ST - M. Marquez
ST - Guayre

Subs - Pindado, A. Lamas, G. Beranger, S. Rondon, M. Garcia

First Half

19' - Juanpa goes down after a physical challenge from Cordoba. It looks like he will be able to play through it though.
28' - Cejudo knocks it down the line for Guayre, Guayre sends it on a line to Marquez in the area and he is free! Marquez hits it and scores!!!
42' - Cordoba's Carpintero sends a ball through and their forward Juanjo has it in the area but Juanpa intervenes and we are able to clear it!
44' - Josica challenges Cordoba's Juanjo and Juanjo goes down with an injury, he needs to come off for treatment. We were lucky to avoid a penalty kick there.

Half Time

We lead 1-0 in what has been a boring match so far. We are getting solid performances from everyone to this point, no one has a h/t rating of less than 6.8 but we are a little fatigued. Both teams have 5 shots but we have 3 on target while they only have 1. Four of our five shots have been from distance. We are doing a great job of passing, our completion rate is at 81%.

Second Half

50' - A nice through ball from Marquez to Darino but Darino's shot is blocked by their keeper.
55' - Another through ball, this time from Josico to Marquez but we are again denied by their keeper!
60' - A nasty tackle by Cordoba leads to an injury for Guayre and it doesn't look good. This could be devastating to our season. We bring in Rondon to take his place.
74' - Darino intercepts their corner and sends it forward to Rondon who has a breakaway! He fires from the right side but gets denied!! Hopefully this inability to finish doesn't come back to haunt us!
77' - We sub out Josico and Lopez for Garcia and Beranger to get some fresh legs out there defensively.
78' - A great run by Rondon gets him into the area and he finishes with a great goal!!!

Final
Las Palmas 2 : 0 Cordoba

We were dominant today with 11 of our 12 players that played long enough to get ratings scoring higher than 7.0! Quite the response to the horrible loss just a few days ago. We ended up with 14 shots to their 9, while we had 8 on target to their 3. A great win, now we just have to wait to hear back on Guayre's injury. The win assures us of meeting the Board's Expectations to get to at least the 4th round of the Spanish Cup.

Man of the Match: Marcos Marquez (7.8 f/t rating, 1 goal)

Up next we have a league match at home against Recreativo. We are underdogs at the moment.
