I forgot about being able to watch highlights!! That's right!!

You were right, though. It did take a long time to sim each game. I remember it taking just as long in FPS: Baseball. THAT was unbearable!

I believe the reason why is that it actually play every game out. You didn't see it displayed, but it played out every game, which is why you got to see the highlights. You could actually set it to save every play from simmed games so you could actually watch "game film" of the other teams.

There are features in that game, that to this day still haven't been matched. The play editor alone is far superior to anything we have to day. Pre snap shifts and motion? Sweet.

I remember that was the game where I worked like 2 days on designing one stinkin' play..LOL....what a great game it was. I remember back then I never used to buy Madden on the PC, I just laughed at it.

Re: Front Page Sports Football...

I think I played over 40 seasons of fpsf. I made up all of my own plays, then used that profile editor to call my plays for me when simulating. Of all the things missing in today's games, it's the actually playing the game out when simulating that I miss the most. This 'quick sim' crap in today's game just doesn't cut it. I actually have all my seasons saved somewhere, I backed it up after each year so I could go back and see who the league leaders where and stuff. My team got so loaded that I'd routinely beat teams 70 to 3, which is boring when playing but awesome when simulating. :> I loved that game.

Yes it was. I remember when the '95 version came out. I created and re-rated every single player in the league from scratch and created playbooks for each team. It took me three months and it was worth every second. The ingame and simmed game stats were butter. Oh, to have a current game worthy of that kind of commitment(and the time and energy to put in the work )

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: Front Page Sports Football...

Does anyone remember QB-C exchanges could be fumbled? Why has no other game done this yet. Especially when playing WR's at QB in a game like madden.
