First play session tonight and I can definitely see why it has a cult following in NA. The fluidity and controls make so much sense and are so rewarding. The game also does a great job of capturing the NPB Experience and style of the league.

Will be definitely sinking time into this title while I await the new MLBTS

The 22 update is now live!! Colors seem much brighter to me, playing on a TV.

Does this game have any short of franchise mode? Thinking of buying it off Amazon for the ps4. And just playing it on the ps5. They 2019 version I guess with updated rosters and such.

Of course it does. Thats really all i play since online is unbearable due to the servers being in Japan and the lag. There also isn't a roster vault like the show so all changes you'd have to make your own. Luckily there isn't a lot of player movement in NPB year after year but you won't have the recently drafted players and foreigners. Will be missing some key players with 2019/20 version of the game like Sato for Hanshin, Hayakawa for Rakuten and Kuribiyashi for Hiroshima.
