Li told deputies that upon meeting the man in the parking lot, the man pulled out a black handgun and demanded Li’s cell phone, and the keys to Li’s car, which contained the stash of marijuana. The unknown man took off in Li’s car and left the scene. Deputies located the unoccupied car that had been parked a few blocks away, but the suspect was not located. A search of the car yielded a zip lock bag containing approximately 179 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a box of plastic zip lock bags. Li was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of marijuana for sale. The carjacking suspect is described as a tall, dark skinned male in his twenties. Sheriff’s deputies ask that anyone with any information about this crime contact the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at 650-599-1536 or the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at 1-800-547-2700.
