Re: News that make you say WTF?

Wacky news in my neighborhood #2. Also quite hilarious:

In a strange turn of events, a man attempting to sell two pounds of marijuana in the San Carlos McDonald’s parking lot on Wednesday night ended up calling San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department deputies to report that the drugs, his cell phone, and his car, had been stolen at gunpoint.

According to Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt, sheriff’s deputies assigned to the San Carlos Police Bureau responded to a call of an armed robbery at the McDonald's located at 180 El Camino Real at approximately 8:40 p.m. Wednesday.

The caller, Jia Hang Li, 33, told deputies he had driven from San Francisco to sell approximately two pounds of marijuana to a man he had spoken to on the phone, but never met.

Li told deputies that upon meeting the man in the parking lot, the man pulled out a black handgun and demanded Li’s cell phone, and the keys to Li’s car, which contained the stash of marijuana.

The unknown man took off in Li’s car and left the scene. Deputies located the unoccupied car that had been parked a few blocks away, but the suspect was not located.

A search of the car yielded a zip lock bag containing approximately 179 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a box of plastic zip lock bags.

Li was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of marijuana for sale
and transportation of marijuana for sale.

The carjacking suspect is described as a tall, dark skinned male in his twenties.

Sheriff’s deputies ask that anyone with any information about this crime contact the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Detective Bureau at 650-599-1536 or the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office Anonymous Tip Line at 1-800-547-2700.

Janet Jackson married a billionaire. How they managed to keep this out of the press for so long is amazing. Hopefully the third time is the charm for her.

1. I didn't know Pink was 33.

2. That is way too much muscle tone for a woman. For my tastes anyway.

PRESTON, Conn. (AP) — A woman who picked up her two young grandsons from daycare and was supposed to bring them home so the 2-year-old could open his birthday presents instead drove them to a neighboring town and shot and killed the children and herself, state police and family members said.

The bodies of 47-year-old Debra Denison and her grandsons, 2-year-old Alton Perry and 6-month-old Ashton Perry, were found Tuesday night in a car parked near Lake of Isles in Preston, in the southeastern part of the state.

State police called the deaths a double murder-suicide Wednesday, saying they believe Denison shot the boys and herself. Autopsies were planned.

Family members said Denison had bipolar disorder and a history of mental health problems.
