TAA is generally a game-changer in a lot of games for me, especially at lower resolutions that I'm often forced to run at (1080p on a 1440p monitor, mostly). Was one of the first things I tried, and I wasn't really surprised at all when it cleaned up this game's look without much of a performance hit.

Re: Cities Skylines II

Seems like part of the performance issues is due them not having LODs ready for many different asset types. That's just crazy to me.

Each cim is 40,000 polygons. They have more polygons in their teeth than many buildings have altogether. The cars are near GTA V quality with many more on screen, obviously.

I get that they wanted detail when you're taking up close pictures, but I can't comprehend a major game thsse days not having LOD models.

At least they've acknowledged it and it's something they can "easily" fix.

Re: Cities Skylines II

Anyone try this out recently to test performance? Based on Steam reviews, it's still in a pretty abysmal place, but there is a lot of missing context there in terms of hardware and to what degree does it run. Especially interested in anyone's experience on a 1440p monitor

Re: Cities Skylines II

I've been waiting until modding was officially added to the game. I am excited to try it out when my new PC is here in the next week or two, however, but I won't really get back into playing it until modding is a thing.

Re: Cities Skylines II

Paradox finally realized they screwed up...

To that end, they are doing a few things in an effort to make things right:
• Giving away the Beach Properties DLC as a free base-game add-on (offering refunds for the people who purchased)
• Providing Ultimate Edition purchases three additional Content Creator Packs and three additional Radio Stations (which have a planned release of Q4 of this year), and
• Delaying the Bridges and Ports Expansion to Q1 2025 to focus on free patches and game updates all year.

Along with that news, console and other planned releases were addressed:
• Console release is being targeted for October of this year
• the Urban Promenade s and Modern Architecture Creator Packs are still being released in Q2 of this year, since they have been outsourced (my words, not theirs)
• Assets are aimed to be available before this summer on PDX mods, but they are unable to provide a firm timeline at this point in time. (I am guessing region packs would come out shortly after, since they rely on the same importing functionality)
