He means the visual R2 reminder icon, like the games of yore where they would tell you that Circle is a contact swing and Square is a power swing. I mean, you can still press R2 if you want to see your pitch history and what types the other pitcher has, but you don't need that visual reminder.

My most preferred option would be to completely remove the visual aid while batting and have it completely visible (including pitch types) while pitching.

I still don't understand. When I bat I have no R2 icon??
