Much better at default, so you should be able to tune it more easily to your liking. Guarantee if you start at HOF and use dynamic difficulty you won't be striking out too many.

Seems like the ball comes off the bat harder and faster than last year.
I agree. Even on HOF. Has seemed easier to make solid contact with less pitchers duels.
Side note.... why is Gleyber wearing #4?

Default Allstar hitting default HOF pitching. Bumping hitting up to HOF is much better.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Impressions Thread

The white UI screens are absolutely horrid. Whomever signed off on that should be questioned.

Foul ball frequency slider has little to no effect. I turned it down all the way after Sonny Grey threw 52 pitches through two innings. One at bat had at least a dozen foul balls.

Player faces indeed look very good. Quite impressed.

Oh how I would love a pitching interface similar to Super Mega Baseball. Until then, it's either meter or classic (classic being my preferred method).

The catcher's suggestion "glove" is too faint imo. I can see the location but it should be darkened a bit.

Jerseys and player models need an upgrade badly. The uniforms just don't "flow" and the sleeves have looked the same for years.

Default accessories on the ball players look nice. Love the differentiation in personality styles.

FYI

The Foul Ball Frequency slider has a strong affect on balls landing fair vs foul not how many or how less they "foul off".

This is from 1000's of hours of playing The Show and testing sliders.

Funny to me how players are different, if I'm pitching and a batter is fouling off pitch after pitch, the last thing I think of is a slider setting. What I think is, this guy is ON everything that I'm throwing, which means I need to go far out of the zone or I'm going to get crushed if I go in the zone, I'll gladly give up the walk and go to the next guy.

Re: MLB The Show 24 Impressions Thread

Almost been a week with MLBTS 24 and now ready to post some impressions of the game. I'm playing 99% RTTS so my impressions are based on that mode.

Positive :
I've seen enough improvements overall that the game feels as much fun, if not more, than MLBTS 23.

The lighting, the colors, but mainly, the sky, looks unbelievable this year. I know it's not a deal breaker for most, but I kinda have almost as fun watching the game than playing it!

I've seen more animations from players, making me smile a few times. Rolling the dice, bowling, etc. is fun and just add to the experience.

The combine is nice but geez that the ambiance is worse than when we we're 1800 in the Olympic Stadium for an Expos game.

The interactions with the agent, the coaches, etc. is also a nice touch.

Negative :
Only one thing. The menus (color and font) are not great on a visual standpoint. I know, maybe I'm old, but the handwriting font makes it unpleasant, let's say it that way.

Overall, while there's no wow factor, that game is fun. I've already played it 40 hours and I will surely have the same kind of year I had with MLBTS 20.

Interesting. I never knew that after all these years! Thanks for the clarification.
