SLG % = .414 - easy to find on-line SLG% calculators

Batting Avg. = .250

Runs p/game = 4.5

hits p/game = 8.4

2b's p/game = 1.7

hr's p/game = 1.2

bb p/game = 3.25

strikeouts p/game = 8.6

stole bases p/game = .780

hbp p/game = .434

# of total pitches thrown p/ game = 146



HOF default (directional/classic/clean screen) plays closer to these MLB averages than people probably think.



Some areas where default HOF didn't quite "matchup" (on the cpu side) are the following: cpu slugging too low, cpu foul % too high, cpu runs too low, and cpu batting averages too low.



Won't bother posting what I think for the user side, because we all play w/ different teams and have different skill sets. The one thing for sure that didn't add up for me on the user side was that I was averaging more than 5 BB p/game. I'm patient at the dish for sure, but I was getting walks at an alarming rate. (with pitch speeds at 9). The cpu's strike % and 1st pitch strike % was within those MLB averages, and my OBP % was too, so I can't figure out why I can consistently get too many free passes?



I do know this, whatever Armor comes up with, I bet his 23 set will still play close to these MLB averages.



I'm just sharing this in case people want a statistical baseline to start from. I'm sorta in between when it comes to sliders.....1/2 eye test and 1/2 statistical output, so I do like to look at this data in case something is way off.

I’m ready for this slider set!

One thing I know and this is obviously personal preference but I can no longer play with pitch speed any lower than 8. The ball just floats in there when you hit or pitch and it drives me insane.


Main areas I’ve noticed that need tweaks are base runner and fielder speed. Too many double plays so with lower base runner speed I’d lower infielder arm strength.

Default hitting has been pretty dang good so far for both me and the cpu. I’ve always been a big fan of matching contact for the hitter with control for the pitcher.

Without a doubt I second the pitch speed and something to assist with the amount of double plays. I hit into and turn the most double plays in the majors. I also feel like nearly every player is capable of making platinum glove plays especially so with men on base or double play situations.

Yes pitch speed is personal preference but I feel like default is like slow pitch softball. It’s odd but if you want my offense to struggle have me hit on default pitch speed. It’s always been like that.

That is my soon to be 19yr old son. He is a freshman and about to play his first season of college baseball at William Peace University in Raleigh NC. His home field is USA Baseball National Complex in Cary NC!!!

User DP's and hitting into DP's is a long running legacy issue.

We will see what we can to help slow down that rate.

Very cool! I thought it was your son cause I heard you say in the last game that my boy is playing 3B. But I didn't know if that was just a slang cause you like that player or it was literally your boy lol.

Just my 2 cents, but in my slider testing and my set, I have played a whole season and a half with IF arm strength one lower than baserunner speed. And that helps with double plays. The batter beats more of those plays out. Making double plays a little harder.

The MLB average in 23 was 0.71 double plays per game. I went through my stats and in 53 games so far in my 24 season, the CPU hit into 46 double plays (0.87 per game) and I hit into 30 (0.57 per game).
