2019 Atlanta Braves

We are already a few weeks into 2019, so figured it was time. I can't blame us wanting to hold onto 2018 though...what a great/fun season it was!

Going to be interesting going forward to see how this team is rounded out, but love bringing in Donaldson and BMac. I actually am afraid this team could take a step back this year (similar to Houston in 2016), but also feel like there is so much room for improvement. Albies and Acuna should continue to grow/get better, I think Camargo continues to develop, and Inciarte didn't have that great of a year last year.

IMO, our season will go as the pitching goes; do Folty/Newcomb take the next step in their development, does one of the younger guys step up and grab a rotation spot, does Teheran return to form? Does our bullpen stop walking people? Lots of ?'s and not a lot of answers to be sure...

Regardless, I can't wait for Spring Training and baseball season. Bring it on!

Re: 2019 Atlanta Braves

Dansby hit off a tee this week with no issues.

And we’re apparently close to acquiring an OFer per the AJC.

I know it’s not a popular opinion, but I always liked the old blue on blue jerseys. That said, the new ones are a massive upgrade. Beautiful.

Re: 2019 Atlanta Braves

I'm wondering if the outfielder we are going to acquire is Haniger. I would be fine with trading a few of out pitching prospects to land him. He'd look great in LF for us.

I'm in agreement with you on this one 100%. Haniger for a couple of prospects especially pitching ones would be fine with me. Haniger is basically playing for free right now with that rookie deal of his. He will be getting paid pretty well soon so let's go ahead & go after him for a few prospects in return. We can give Haniger his pay increase if he comes in & does what we expect in due time.

I think Haniger would be a perfect fit for us. He can play all 3 OF positions too so if one of our starting OF'ers were to need rest or was to get hurt he can play any 3 of the OF positions & that could lead to a bench player like Camargo or Culberson to get more playing time too if there was to be this kind of problem.
