MCCABE TRADES FOR DEPTH
October 1st, 2021

Shortly before the Regular Season was set to kick off, Vegas GM Evan McCabe finalized a deal with the Nashville Predators which saw them some more depth at defense.

The trade was for 6'6 26 year old Ben Harpur. Harpur will bring a considerable amount of of size and comes from playing a stalwart defensive system. Harpur has played in 138 NHL games with stints in Ottawa and Nashville. This is the final year of a $800K Contract and he will be a RFA at the end of the season.

Leaving Las Vegas is 22 year old Brayden Pachal. Pachal is an undrafted Defenseman that signed with Vegas last year; although he has yet to play a NHL game. Scouts Report that he has some upside and is considered a Prospect, which Nashville was interested in.

So far, Journalists are reporting that this was a fair and equal trade for both clubs.

Well, they did it! Vegas is off to a great start, showing some great resilience; after Seattle battled back to tie the game, by scoring two goals in the third period. Giving new General Manager Evan McCabe his first win with the team.

This was the first official look at the newest expansion team the Kraken. The team played well on the ice and played a style suitable to their overall skill level; which was a hard working, physical team led by strong defense.

Lehner continued his strong performance in net, stopping 26 of 28 shots. The bruising Knights continued an up tempo game registering 39 hits and 21 blocks, while putting 28 shots on net. Lehner took home 1st Star of the Night honors, while Karlsson took home 2nd Star with 1G,1A.

KNIGHTS DOUBLE UP RIVAL KINGS

Captain Mark Stone registered 1G, 1A and was First Star of the Game as Vegas continues to roll, to kick off this season. The goals came as the Knights flexed their depth, scoring coming from three of the four lines.

Lehner was sensational again in net, stopping 27 of 27 shots on goal. The Knights will now return Home to the Fortress, where they will take on the St. Louis Blues on the 13th.
