Rivals Toronto Maple Leafs ruin Season Opener for Hamilton
The new Battle of Ontario started poorly for Hamilton, losing 8-4 to rival Toronto.
Toronto came out swinging, leading 5-0 by the end of the 1st. 2 goals by Marner plus goals by Marleau, Zaitsev & Gauthier put the home team down early before Michael Raffl, who finished with 2 goals, scored the first goal in franchise history.
But it would be too little too late. Kadri scored a hat trick to seal the deal. Hamilton also got goals from Burakovsky & Lee. Sergei Bobrovsky was illprepared for this game, making 41 saves with a .836 Save %
