After week 10 I am almost done with recruiting for this season.



Not going after a 5 star HB recruit from Kentucky, who is ignored by all other programmes, really hurts.

1991 - Week 11 - #23 Oklahoma St @ Kansas

Nobody at Kansas University expected to see much daylight against Oklahoma St. Well, at least in the 1st half we didn't see any at all.

Some games seem to be to big for my starting QB. I had to bench him for the third time this season at halftime:

5 interceptions
3 misses on wide open receivers

My receivers didn't help him either. They collected five drops in the first half.

1st half: 27:0 Oklahoma St
2nd half: 14:9 Kansas

1991 - Week 12 - Nebraska @ Kansas


The Jayhawks take care of the Cornhuskers in a tight game - one more win needed to be Bowl eligible.

• QB Jason Bean was benched - His former backup Jalon Daniels made a solid game.
• The Cornhuskers dominated both lines.
• The Jayhawks won their last home game of the season.

1991 - Week 13 - Kansas Jayhawks (75 OVR) @ #13 Iowa State (OVR 95)

Would Kansas be able to avoid the blowout? No, Sir!

The Jayhawks ran into one of the best defenses in the country and were denied to score points on offense at all. Kansas never even crossed the 50 yard line.

The defense was responsable for the those 6 points on the board for the Jayhawks (pick 6). Sophomore Corner Duece Mayberry took one of Brock Purdy's three interceptions of the day to the house.

1991 - Week 14 - Kansas @ K-State (86 OVR)

Jayhawks failed to bounce back from devastating loss at Iowa State in Sunflower (Snowflake) Showdown.

The first quarter felt like it's all Iowa State again. K-State QB Skylar Thompson was perfect on his first ten passes of the game and star RB Deuce Vaughn found hole after hole in what statistically was the nations best running defense. Ten nothing after the first quarter.

In the 2nd quarter QB Jalon Daniels left the game with an injury. Former starter Jason Bean would put up some impressing numbers in the passing game in three quarters.

30 seconds before halftime Bean helped to score the first offensive TD after a six quarter drought with a 25 yards pass to WR Wilson. Close game - 13-10 K-State.

A great kick return and some inexplicable tackling issues after a short pass later the Wildcats got on the board again before halftime with a FG kick.

The third quarter eventually decided the game:

• 23-10 Thompon's 2nd TD pass on the day
• 30-10 pick 6 - Bean's only really bad decision/throw in the game
• 37-10 after another interception on a pass to a WR who was actually open (picture) and a successful drive of the Wildcat's offense

In the fourth quarter the Jayhawks got on the board twice, but it was not enough.


Skylar Thompson threw only five incompletions - three of them were "throw aways".

1991 - Week 15 - Kansas @ Missouri (OVR 83)
Matchwinner Jason Bean and a conservative playcalling on offense secured Kansas a Bowl invitation

Late in the 4th quarter the Jayhawks were down three points due to some missed occasions on offense (overthrown passes and drops).

90 seconds to go on a 4&6 play - the Jayhawks OC called a pass play - no one open - Jason Bean scrambled for a new set of downs (picture).

18 seconds to go - Jason Bean tossed the ball to wideout Arnold - endzone - TD Kansas (pictures)
