I’m starting a Champions League and a Libertadores tournament to test with different caliber of teams.

Honestly, I’m using really similar settings to 20, including player instructions and team tactics. Will hopefully have something nailed down in a few days, but super similar to my previous sets.

Oof—giving up on 22. It's clearly been programmed to create chaotic, end-to-end matches played out over very quick times. No combination seems to get what I want, which is a congested midfield and final third. Not tactics, not sliders, not a combination.

I kept playing the same match over and over—Ajax at Dortmund in the Champions League. It was a mess. Then, I wondered what FIFA 20 would feel like if I booted that up immediately in comparison. Wow—so much better. Midfielders track into the box!

Plus, 20 looks so much better to me than 22 (PS4), not even a contest.

I'm actually going to adjust my 20 sliders and go from there, as 20 right now is scratching my FIFA itch. I'm glad I didn't pay for 22, just like 21, it's a lost cause entirely and impossible to create anything close to a simulation.

I'll post my 20 updates in that thread, maybe tomorrow. It plays still plays so well, and still feels modern, etc.

Never did, but I’ve been playing 20 for a bit. 19-20 is by far the pinnacle of FIFA. I did love 17, but the game still plays well on 20.

Will try and post my updates in case anyone is curious and hanging back a few years when the idea of a midfield actually exists.
