This type of pass is new to me at least for the user, did they introduced it in 17? I am wandering about the legitimacy of this type of pass in the first place as for me, this should be only a matter of power you put into your pass. Here you have no control on the power and I bet sliders hardly have any effect on that type of passes. My biggest cons so far with the colors.

I am streaming a bit by the way: https://www.twitch.tv/papinho811
Yea, last year the driven pass basically broke the game. The CPU would use it 90% of the time it felt like.

However, compared to last year, i think this year CPU uses it much less, but i can see that for a newcomer it might seem it uses to much. A matter of perception i guess...

Im going to watch your stream now! Cheers!

Ok thanks guys, it helps me putting things in perspective. My last FIFA was 16, that I was still playing until this demo, but for some reason I never tried 17 demo included.
Do you use this pass yourself (command RB+X)? In manual, I find they are almost impossible to use. It seems to work also with long balls (RB+[]) but it is even worst to master.

The biggest slider I need, is the dang Power Bar slider hahah! It seems extra soft this year, been dinking some pathetic passes in midfield.

Was thinking the same!! Worse than FIFA 17 lol like you have to hold it for ages to do a simple pass!!!

I agree on the driven pass. Now, to me, it's contextual. It's at certain distances, and is not used all the time. The way it glides on the surface is nice too, as it doesn't just bobble up and down.

Really loving this demo. I know we can improve some things, but very slight if anything.

Every once in a while I would...but found it unreliable.

Played the demo with Man U and finally I saw Lukaku playing like a real striker!!!
Finally the center forward follow the instructions, like the CDM!

However the offensive players on the wing tend to stay too wide...
Mkhitaryan, Mata, Martial... they like to cut inside the field...

Re: FIFA 18 OS Community Sliders

Been having so much fun with this demo. Don't want to jinx it but I've a good feeling about this year... and this was after not liking what I'd been hearing at all over the summer.

But while I've been having fun, attacking play is way OP. I'm playing on Legendary and crushing the CPU. Hopefully it's just the demo being built to be fun and more open than usual, and hopefully the final version tightens things up.

One of the biggest issues I'm seeing is that AI defenders will allow dribblers from outside to cut inside just before the box, and then you can get off an easy shot. It's weird, defenders will choose to backoff when they need to be stepping up.

Another issue with the backline is that you'll sometimes see one defender act really oddly. I've scored a couple goals where one of the backline will literally abandon the space in front of me, go elsewhere, only to at the last minute try to apply pressure, but by then it's way too late.

So, overall this demo has heaps and heaps of promise, but I do have some concerns over the defensive AI. What worries me is that some of what I"m seeing aren't a slider fix, but problems with the individual AI decision making. The final release is usually a more refined version of the demo, so hopefully these concerns will be ironed out.
