Tarheels bounced from ACC

Chapel Hill, NC - As if starting your new job with a 4-8 record wasn't bad enough, today Coach Mumford got word that the ACC does not want to be affiliated with the North Carolina Tarheels and they've been removed from the conference in favor of former Divison IA independent, the Temple Owls. "So when do I wake up from this sick and twisted nightmare?" were the first words out of Coach Mumford's mouth when he heard the news.

Mumford out in Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill, NC - Through no fault of his own really, the North Carolina Tarheels were ousted from the ACC after Coach Mumford's first year there. Following a disappointing 2-10 season, Coach Mumford was ousted from North Carolina. "I need to take a few weeks, maybe months, away from the game and just sort things out. There's a position available at Purdue that I've been called upon to fill but I'm not ready to say that I'll take the job just yet," were the words spoken by Coach Mumford following the announcement yesterday.

West Lafayette, IN - In local news today, the lowly Purdue Boilermakers sign journeyman coach A.Mumford to head up their football program. It's a perfect fit some say. Mumford can't find success and neither can the Boilermakers. Fans and boosters alike are hoping that in this case, two wrongs CAN make a right.
