I think the contract is only guaranteed if he makes it to the big leagues.

He made the right decision, but he's not nearly as good as people think he is. I played with him for 3 years at ND and he was better his freshman year. He sat around 88-89 with his fastball and had great movement. Junior year rolls around and he's thowing 92-95 and all of a sudden he hits 99 MPH!

He does not have a second pitch, which is why you see the low strike out numbers. His control is sketchy at times. He just has a great arm and is obviously a good athlete.

He will be successful if he stays down zone with his fastball and if someone teaches him a 2nd pitch.

By the way Jeff Manship was much more polished and is thriving in the Twins organization. Manship was drafted in the 14th round after a great season.

he's laughing all the way to the bank, also it's june, and he pitched pretty well last year, iirc

I really think its up to him. I would personnally rather play baseball than football. He was a solid receiver in college, but its hard to tell if that would carry over into the NFL. He has great hands, but I think he would have to be more of a go over the middle posession receiver. He also probably would have been a late 2nd to 4th round pick. I am sure he's getting more upfront money in baseball.

Greg Maddux was horrible in the minors and look how he turned out. I'm a Cubs fan so hope springs eternal though
