Re: Gold And Purple Reign | Los Angeles Lakers 2K24 Modern Era Franchise

Davis and James play key role to Lakers dominant victory over Suns

Four Laker starters finish with 20 more points in blowout
When Kevin Durant scored someone on the Lakers answered. Playing without fellow All-Stars Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, Durant could do only so much, but eventually had to concede he couldn’t do it alone. LeBron James didn’t have to. Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 42 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, one steal and three blocks, James scored 22 of his 27 points in the first half with also six rebounds and nine assists as the Lakers blew past the short-handed Phoenix Suns 131-110. D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves both added 20 points apiece. The 35-year-old Kevin Durant finished with a game-high 52 points and 12 rebounds while moving into 12th place on the NBA’s career scoring list. “We’ve had so many battles, we don’t have many matchups left,” the 38-year-old James said. “Not sure how many we have left, so never want to take it for granted when you’re out here and playing against such a great player, one of the best to ever play the game. It’s always a treat.”

Re: Gold And Purple Reign | Los Angeles Lakers 2K24 Modern Era Franchise

Anthony Davis delivers as Lakers beat Kings 108-100

James gets the win on the 20th anniversary of his NBA debut

October 29, 2003 marked the day that LeBron James played his first official NBA game. Fast forward twenty years later and LeBron James is still playing at a high level, something that nobody has seen from a guy who will be 39 years old in December. The team that James played that late October night in his first game, the Sacramento Kings. Twenty years later the result was different then it had been back then with the Lakers pulling out a 108-100 victory over the Kings, thanks to a strong second half, mainly the third quarter where the Lakers outscored the Kings 36-15, turning a 61-54 halftime deficit into a 90-76 lead heading into the fourth quarter. James finished with 26 points, hitting an efficient 11-of-16 from the field and Anthony Davis recorded his first 20-20 game of the season with 25 points and a career-high 28 rebounds along with six assists, two steals and four blocks. The Kings were led by De’Aaron Fox who finished with 29 points and six assists but suffered a right ankle injury (even though he did return to the game), Fox was noticeably limping afterwards. Domantas Sabonis added 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Kings were held to 39 points in the second half.
