EA SPORTS revealed today the official pack art for Madden NFL 12, featuring Cleveland Browns running back, Peyton Hillis on the cover. Hillis was chosen by fans as the Madden NFL 12 cover athlete through a five week voting campaign anchored by ESPN SportsNation. The Madden NFL 12 Cover Vote was the most successful fan engagement campaign in EA and ESPN history with more than 12 million votes in total.

For the first time in franchise history, EA SPORTS invited fans and media to take part in the live cover shoot of Madden NFL 12. A staged set was built on Military Island in the heart of Times Square, on Thursday, April 28th, hosting both football fans and media alike.

EA SPORTS also announced today the limited Madden NFL 12 Hall of Fame Edition, featuring former St. Louis Rams running back Marshall Faulk on the cover. Available on August 30th for the retail price of $89.99, a limited run of 125,000 copies of the Hall of Fame Edition will be available exclusively in the United States* for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360®. OMFG The HOF cover is soooo nice. Do want.

Edit: Wait... $90 bucks? Nevermind.

Both look awesome!

I'm not in love with the look of either one -- really not feeling the Hillis art. I like the Cleveland waterfront in the background, but I would have chosen a different foreground pic of Hillis.

I think the Faulk cover looks better but the bronze pic with the gray and black trimmings ain't workin' for me. I'd look a lot better if the entire case was engraved bronze.

I'd probably get it if it contained a points card or a voucher for some of the inevitable DLC, otherwise HOF edition doesn't offer anything I'd want other than the spiffy cover.

It would look a lot better if the regular version was $39.99 and the HOF version was $59.99.

His eyes are creaping me out. They just look weird.

I don't really care about covers of games, but I like to see a Browns player getting some love. The Browns are one of the coolest, old school teams in the league. Got to love them.

HA! So true.

Neither covers look that great to me. The background on the Hillis cover just looks.... awkward I guess.

I burst into laughter when I saw the cover. Why is there a Marshal Faulk cover too? Hahahaha

Because he's in the Hall of Fame?

Hall of Fame edition is not worth 90 bucks.

# 14 SmashMan @ 05/31/11 11:47 AM
Ultimate Team stuff is intriguing to me...but not worth another $30.

Agreed. Now this...

this was a collector's edition: Madden 09, NFL Head Coach 09 and bonus content that included a playable version of Madden '93.

I've still got this on my shelf. Now that was worth $89.99. Three years later and you're getting charged the same price for a "special" edition that has less content. Go figure.

Not digging the cover at all. It looks too much like a studio shot; I'm aware that older covers may also have been studio shots but this just looks too..choreographed.

I think the Hillis cover looks great

i see they made sure to get the paint spatters in again this year, not that the cover is a big deal just wanted to see a little variety through the series rather than the same template.

Is that why? Then there should be a few other hundred covers lol.

What is so HOF about this years title? And where is the juice to it? The 20 year anniversary was a damn HOF bundle.

# 20 TrapStar215 @ 05/31/11 12:15 PM
These covers are terrible. Just wasted a great picture! And threw paint splatters everywhere.
