It depends on the superstars overall and their comeback ability. If they have possum or extra reversal they will use it to their advantage if you don't control the tempo of the match. In 1v1 and 2v2 working holds can be very beneficial mid way through matches. If you face a high rated superstar they will be very tough to beat. Unless the cpu hits you with a mid move reversal you should be able to still defend yourself most of the time.

Winning the chain wrestling mini game can also give you an early boost. Press (R1/RB & X/A) at the start of a 1v1 or 2v2 to initiate it.

Yes! Matches will be back and forth and unpredictable, especially if the superstars are evenly matched. You will also notice more 5 star matches, Cpu vs Cpu matches should be very entertaining to watch.

So I notice you have rope break off in the settings. Will the ref still call for the rope break if it's off?

The ref will only call rope break if you grab or place your leg on the ropes with the rope break ability. Most of the superstars in the game have this ability. Rope break can be initiated while being pinned parallel from the ropes by pressing (O/B) during the pin meter mini game. I'm not a fan of auto rope breaks, especially when a superstar who has a submission as their sig/fin gets their momentum wasted because the animation placed their opponent next to the rope. Its sort of a bail out and it staggers the action.
