That's how everyone I know that smokes started smoking.

Not saying this doesn't exist, but I haven't met a person in my life that started smoking as an adult. I know they are out there, but I'd bet the numbers are so small the tobacco industry would collapse if they were their only customers.

The only time I've seen adults start smoking is when you make it a social event like hookah.

Don't think I've even seen this ad. And even if I did, I wouldn't have had a clue what it was supposed to be for if it weren't for this thread.

? The military definitely does not make you smoke...I'm not sure what ads the OP is talking about but I highly doubt the advertisement is going to have a serious impact on young smokers.

They don't force you to smoke but I'd say a good amount of people started smoking just by being in the military.
