What's the point of posting replies to topics you have no knowledge of imformation of?

For instance, it's a stereotype to say that "Everyone watches news/reads newspapers/reads a blog", so, what about the people who don't? Just saying, it's going to be hard to post replies to conversations you don't know anything about, which is perhaps 99% of the forum for me. (you can tell I don't read the internet much). I understand if this combats spam, but that's pretty much all I can post at the moment, other than this reply.

I don't understand this reply. What he told you is the truth. You need a certain number of posts and days to be able to create a thread. If you read the TOS which you agreed to when you signed up for an account you would already know that.

I've been on OS for 8 years. If I didn't know the answer to your question I wouldn't have answered it.

I never said you didn't know the answer. Both of you assumed that I was implying that.

In all cases, I have a few questions that haven't been asked, plus I want to be welcomed, but since there is no welcome forum, and since there is no questions and answers forum, I can't ask. Is there a rule against asking?

Sill can't edit my post!

"What's the point of posting replies to topics you have no knowledge of imformation of?"

I think I get where you thought I was coming from. But I was actually referring to myself. I don't have any information to contribute to topics, so, I cannot make a decent post without spamming

I see what you meant and how it was originally misinterpreted. The answer to your quoted question is that you can: (a) ask a question about the topic to start to build knowledge about it; (b) find a topic that you already know a good deal about and comment there [for example, I don't really need to be a long time OS member to make rational comments about MLB baseball goings-on since I am also a baseball fan]; or (c) educate yourself on the topic by reading back through the thread--this is often plenty of contextual information to realize what the thread is really about.

Why not visit the OS Neighborhood forum and discuss topics there? Has nothing to do with games and there is an off-topic thread where everything within the rules of the TOS are discussed without having to be on topic.

you probably need less than 10 posts, cant be much more if it isnt. there isnt any point of posting replies to topics you have no knowledge or information of. but surely out of the wide range topics on OS there is something to catch your attention.
unless you only care about religion politics or porn lol
