2008 Recruiting Class

In his first full offseason at the helm of UNC Greensboro, Spartans head coach Lee Williamson brought in four recruits. Of the four recruits, three are small forwards, a need coming into this season, and one is a center. All three small forwards were rated as two-star recruits while the center is a one-star recruit.

Headlining the class is Dez Carter, who hails from Lynchburg, VA. Carter is a two-star recruit and is ranked as the No. 460 overall player in this year's class, including the No. 100 small forward. He is the only member of this year's Spartans recruiting class who is nationally ranked. Carter has decent size at 6'5" and 189 lbs. and can play both small forward and shooting guard. He proved to be a very physically strong player in high school, and also was adept at finishing around the basket.

Louis Morgan hails from Cary, NC and stands at 6'5" and 195 lbs. Like Carter, he can play both small forward as well as shooting guard. Also a two-star recruit, Morgan looks to be more of a project and doesn't really excel in any one area. Athleticism is a weakness of his, particularly his quickness. He also struggles to finish around the basket.

Donny Salow hails from Philadelphia, PA and stands at 6'4" and 175 lbs. Salow is also a two-star recruit, but lacks a bit in size compared to Carter or Morgan. Still, he can play both small forward and shooting guard, though he is a bit small for a forward. Like Morgan, he looks to be more of a project and his shooting in high school was a particular struggle. He also particularly struggles at finishing near the basket.

Finally, Dominick Jacobson hails from Jacksonville, FL. A center, he is ranked just one-star, but he has good size at 6'10" and 249 lbs., and with his size he could be a welcome addition to a squad that struggled to rebound against larger teams last season. He looks to be more of a project, though he does have good strength and can finish around the rim fairly well.
