Mods is one of the reasons why the PC version of NBA 2k is better than the console versions because you can turn it into a College Basketball Game and a FIBA Video Game.

In terms of the graphics there the exact same because they still have not updated the graphics on pc in terms of content NBA2k23 has the Jordan Challenge Mode.

A big reasons why Live lost to 2k because they did not make franchise mode on the same level as NBA2k.

NFL 2k Mods are cool because they keep the NFL 2k games modern and change up how you play the NFL 2k games like the college football mod.

Maybe either these two things College Basketball starts getting popular enough to be worth making a video game. The College Football Game by EA makes them want to make a College Basketball Game.

I guess a eras made similar to what NBA 2k has in their MyNBA mode which would be cool that you can play in any era in the NFL.

I guess because the EA games are change in pace for people tired of NBA 2ks heavily monetized with a more chill game but you loose depth and things to do in the game.
