Hey, I tried.

It was a terrible hire and a terrible decision by Spurs, who for years had been making fantastic decisions. They should’ve let Poch rebuild the squad properly instead of thinking Jose could come in and magically win. First, he seems entirely out of touch with modern players. Second, they’re entirely the wrong club for him based on the previous manager and how their entire system had been set up.

For example, under Poch all youth teams mirrored the way the first team played. That level of detail and systemic planning was normal. You think Jose gives a **** how the kids are playing and whether or not they’re preparing to eventually move j to the senior squad? No.

Wrong manager at the wrong time and the wrong club.

Re: 2019-20 UEFA Competitions Thread

Since Jose took over they have conceded 38 goals in all competitions. Only Aston Villa (42) have conceded more.

Their 2 best CB's in Alderweireld & Vertonghen (albeit not having the best of seasons by their standards) are in and out of the lineup all the time.

He chops and changes from a back 4 to a back 5, wingbacks, etc. There is absolutely no consistency with this guy.

There most important match of the season last night and he opts for Ryan Seesegnon at LWB and leaves out Vertonghen again. I warned them a few weeks back about playing Ben Davies 3 times in a week after missing the whole season would be a mistake and it has come back to bite him. He's broken down again with another hamstring injury.

Vertonghen isn't good any more though and they already said he can't play two matches in a short week.

He's fallen off big time and to put him in there against one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe with perhaps the quickest player in the world would have been madness. Vertonghen can't play LB any more. He's too slow.

This summer will tell us everything about where Spurs' mindset is at. I personally think it's a great time to sell Kane. United has been sniffing around and they can use the funds to sure up their defense and midfield.

That result yesterday shouldn't be that surprising. Leipzig is a really good side, even moreso when you're chasing a result.

None of their poor results, the puzzling way they've set up and attempted to play (lobbing it forward to small forwards who are not strikers), or Mourinho's excuses are surprising.

Yeah, I was going to make a comment about us talking about beer instead of that match yesterday lol. Meanwhile I just landed in Palm Springs and not being able to watch yet is torturing me. Flight ended up getting cancelled after they had us sit around for 7 hours. Fun times had by all.

Both teams now looking for a goal have made this second-half a really, really good watch. Atletico's attack has completely changed for the better, to a surprising degree, now that Costa is off.

We're now entering that weird "the away team has more time to score an away goal than the current home team had when they were the away team" time.

TAA bailed out of that really ridiculously dumb foul to set up the FK.
