Konency got paid and produced. Two goals in the opener so far.

Like Hayes game. We paid a premium for him, and he’s had some good chances in the game so far. Him and JVR look huge on the ice. Great big bodies to have around the net.

Not sure many people believe in this Flyers team, but all the exciting prospects Hextall was developing over the years are up in the league now. Honestly, if these guys don’t put it together this year I don’t know if they’ll ever. I’m tired of being stuck in this mode. There’s high end talent on this roster with some pretty good secondary pieces and what looks like a franchise goalie in net with Hart in his second season. They need to make the playoffs. Be nice to not have to play 5-6 goalies due to injury this year too.

I see that both the Canucks and Sabres are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year - exactly NINE years after celebrating their 40th during the 2010/11 season.

There are three possibilities here:

1. They were hedging their bets on half the 20/21 season being lost to an NHL lockout.
2. They can't decide whether the lost 04/05 season counts or not.
3. There are very good reasons why neither team has ever won a Cup.
