I mean, no coaches challenges but basically unlimited challenges like in the NCAA (just all called from upstairs).

There are far more reviews in NCAA than there are in the NFL.

Also, all penalties are reviewable. Welcome to replay hell lol.

It's still is more logical than coaches challenges. Was a dumb idea from the start. Everything should be looked at and reviewed on the fly.

re: XFL Discussion

Rules seem exciting.

The 1 or 2 or 3 point option for PATs is really cool.

And I like more emphasis on actual gameplay. Seems like way less touchbacks will be happening as well.

And a shorter play clock is great too. How many times do you play Madden and just use the accelerated play clock? 40 seconds is just too long. And would even make end of games more exciting since the game won't be over if theres over a minute to go, the losing team has no timeouts, and we're on 2nd down.

Running clock seems like a good idea too. That combined with shorter play clock really helps add more gameplay in shorter time. I hope NFL adopts this rule.

The OT seems weird. I hate the shootouts but that's what they're modeling it after. Shootouts deciding a hockey game has recieved lots of criticism from hockey fans.

re: XFL Discussion

We use an accelerated play clock in Madden in part because we don't have to watch substitutions and often call plays much quicker than a coach might and then wait for it to be relayed to the QB.

The faster pace imo will also mean a simpler game.

I like different and hope this is successful. I'm kind of skeptical though.

re: XFL Discussion

I almost forgot about when exactly XFL season would exactly start. I expect the league to start a little sluggish just because players adjusting to rules and style of play. But I'm hoping the XFL does well this time around. That way there will quality football for most of the year. Especially if it does well enough for there to be a video game.
