Offense is atrocious. 1 and 2 WR routes. No 3 or 4 WR sets. Nothing to spread the defense out. Our offense is simply pathetic.

You are right though, but I think what TheRealHST meant was for the rule to apply universally to both in and out of bounds catches. As long as the ball never touches the ground (even if it's bobbled out of bound), it should be considered a catch.

What's also terrible is the receivers are simply not looking to get separated from their DB. No wide receiver separation.

He wasn't inbounds though?

You have to get two feet in AFTER making the catch for it to be considered a catch.

He didn't catch it until he was out of bounds. After catching it, he can't get two feet in bounds if he's already out of bounds.

I'll probably get roasted for this, but I don't see him as much of an upgrade of Alex Smith to be honest. Never understood what they see in him...

They just can't stop turning the ball over. All 3 turnovers have led to the 49ers, 17 points.

Brees has to throw it away when the play isn't there, but instead he tries to loft up a floater over a Linebacker that's way too athletic for that.

I went back to the DVR footage, instant replay (I actually have all games DVR'ed and saved this season for the 49ers).

The receiver caught the ball with two hands in bounds, second foot dragged on the ground. The WR falls out of bounds, the impact of his arm and the ground caused the ball to be juggled.

The rule states the receiver must have control of the ball entirely from in bounds to out of the bounds. We understand that part, it's just that it would be nice for a rule change to be universal for both in-bounds and out-bounds catches. That is all.

3 turnovers, 17 points off turnovers.

We are literally doing their job for them.
