Eric B. (Not the DJ)

Re: Week 10 Discussion Thread

Wilson's TD pass to Sutton had a completion probability of 3.2%. The most improbable completion in the history of Next Gen Stats.

Ben Johnson and Lou Anarumo are hot names I've heard. The former ideally gives you the creativity on offense I'd want but at the cost of experience. Anarumo has experience and he's a hell of a game planning DC, but so is McDermott. Not sure how he'd react in the big chair.

Just read that this morning. Injuries suck. That is still a ton of guaranteed money.

I like Johnson and Moore. I don’t want to give a second chance to Quinn or Belichick. Bieniemy I wouldn’t be opposed to.

Slowik out of Houston Texans is a hot name too.

It’s hard to tell who’s a good play caller and who’s a good coach. The hotshot offensive guys are intriguing but they’re young so you want to pair them veteran coaches and defensive coaches. The older guys you want to make sure they aren’t too stuck in their ways. Gotta find balance.

I love Lou A out of Cincy but I’ve seen so many great DC’s flame out as HC’s. It kind of feels less risky to go for a young guy. It feels like a bigger swing going with potential over a long track record as an assistant or coordinator.

I’m not convinced McDermott needs to go. This team has hit a wall, can’t deny that. I don’t know if it’s worth it to kind of blow it up now or let this thing ride another year or two and see if we can’t break it down. The window has been open for like 4 years and that first run in 2020 was the farthest we’ve gotten. Time and patience is running out, just not sure where the threshold is.

McD has gotten rid of both his coordinators in the last calendar year so there aren’t many other candidates left to inspire change before It’ll start being players and the HC/GM on the block. Second half of this season will be guys playing and coaching for their jobs IMO. Maybe not the wholesale changes but there could be quite a different look for Buffalo when the dust settles.
