I just don't want to see the NFL. I literally hate the CBA for the NFL players.

I dunno. Something that MAY make the best college players stick around in the NCAAs for another year.

If a guy knows that he'll only make like $3M out the gate, he may consider staying another year and working on his game.

Just hoping.

Also, a franchise tag.

Can't agree with you more. The NFL has set up an eerie "ownership" vibe to their players. You own the team's not the players.

Why do people want a franchise tag so bad? If I sign a 5 year deal and I play 5 years for you then I've fulfilled my obligations to you. There shouldn't be a mechanism in place to force me to stay. I should be free to play whereever I want. The way the NFL has it shouldn't even be legal. Look at what the Chargers are doing to Vincent Jackson. And before people say "then every1 will play in a large market." This just isn't true. If a franchise is actually ran by competent people and surround players with competitive talent then they will stay. Kevin Durant, Tim Duncan anyone...

Plus, no one can pretend the player movement hasn't been good for the league. Ratings are at an all-time high right now.

Re: What Do YOU Want To See In The New CBA?

^^But I do understand the feeling for a Franchise tag^^

You don't want to lose your key players. LeBron and Bosh are great examples. But I do understand players should be given the choice to move where they want. And also the NFL doesn't have super teams like the Eagles (and many other teams) back in the day. And teams that win the Super Bowls have to break-up eventually. Basketball a little different from Football/Basketball. But you just don't want the small cities to lose star players as well. And I'm talking about Players who are the face of their Franchise. Could you imagine in a few years Dwight, Deron Williams, and CP3 going to different cities. For instance, D Will goes to the Knicks, Dwight goes to Dallas, and CP3 goes to the Lakers.

I understand both sides. I just hope we can find a middle ground. We don't need a lockout.

Re: What Do YOU Want To See In The New CBA?

I was just reading an article... Really informative.. Lays out all the issues.
http://www.opposingviews.com/i/nba-c...ement-a-primer

Salary Cap
Like the soft cap...

Player-Owner Revenue
I didn't know Owners want to change the Player-Owner Revenue from 57% to the players down to 43%!! The players are the game.

Team-Team Revenue
I don't know where I stand on this. I have to get more details on this subject.

Guaranteed Contracts and Contract Lengths
Like I said before all contracts should be Guaranteed!! It's your bad you signed a rotten apple. I think there are less rotten apples compared to players who actually play hard.

With team-team revenue, what that article wants to say that the NBA needs a better revenue sharing model. To make it really easy to understand, they take money from teams that create a large surplus and give it to teams that don't make as much money. Doing that is supposed to help even out the financial gap between teams.

I'd feel sorry for Orlando and Utah because they've done a decent job trying to compete.

I basically feel like if I sign a 5 year deal to play for you and I play my butt for 5 years then I've fulfilled my obligation to you. The common thread with players leaving is incompetent/cheap front offices. I like it the way it is now where the home team can offer more money than anybody else. It isn't broken to me.
