That's an amazing win for the Heat.

I mean is Miami gonna drop 23 threes every game? Pretty tough to beat any team who drops that many threes unless you're doing the same on the other end.

You’re not wrong. But Miami hasn’t made 23 threes on anybody all season long. They let them explode for 19 in a playoff game last year too, more than they made against anybody else.

Idk maybe I’m just being completely unreasonable, it just feels like once the post season hits they are never as dominant as they should be. And I feel like dudes like Martin and Highsmith shouldn’t be large contributing factors for them losing to the undermanned 8 seed at home after the type of season they just had.

counterpoint the heat's devil magic has gotten stronger. their 3 outlier performances have all come against boston. I will say why are we not just closing out hard on Caleb Martin. He's fake but he's not some great playmaker or a great finisher. This game was on KP, should've closed with Horford tbh. Miami strategy was vs Jays and KP play them 1v1 and not allow the math problem. didn't look promising at half but for 48 it worked. Also forget this being the one postseason run where the assert their dominance at home. I trust them on the road more. always have.

I get it but shooting better from three than two and Porzingis and Jrue going something like 5/21 combined seems like outliers that aren't sustainable long term and eventually Boston puts them away when those shots aren't falling at an ungodly clip like they were tonight.

Re: Eastern Conference Playoffs - 1st Round Discussion Thread

I am really interested in seeing Jrue perform for the Celtics.

He helps in so many ways on both ends of the court.

For 3 playoff years with the Bucks, the highest % he shot was a
shade over 40% and the lowest was 37%. Career playoff avg is over 41%

That mark is under his career avg 46.3%.
