Even as a Philly fan, I would be okay if Colby White wins MIP over Maxey. He went from 9 to 19 has been legit since Lavine went done. The case for Maxey is that he went from 20 and 3.5 assists to 26 and 6. They went into the season not sure if Maxey could really be a #2 and he proved it throughout the season, while being a All Star and have a chance at All NBA. But if White wins MIP, I would be okay with that. The narrative would be "We knew Maxey was good, we just wasn't sure that he could be a #2 on a contender. He got an expanded role.

His defenders will say he was playing hurt. It doesn't change the fact that the team is just as good without him. He is just a empty stats guy that your never going to win anything with him as your #1. Its just most overlooked bc the fluky run to the ECF a few years back.

I was just about to post about the ECF run lol. I was going to say that it was partly Philly's fault for collapsing and choking and allowing ATL to think they were better than they actually were. If Philly took care of things in 5 games like they should've, it probably would've caused different paths for both Philly and ATL
