Does anyone else just love utility guys?

To be quite honest, I really don't have a lot of love for utility guys. Usually they can't hit at all, and when thrust into a starting role, they act as black holes in the lineup. If they can steal a base, they can be useful. I'd sure prefer a player who can actually slug though..

The Cubs are known to employ many of these guys at starting positions. Not coincidentally, the Cubs are a horribly run franchise.

He's made some nice plays at 3rd it's just that his mistakes are magnified. I'm not saying he's gold glove material. He's a guy who can step in and play one position adequately for about a week or two then move on to another position or the bench.
