Weird rain delay situation in Queens, bases loaded and one out in the 8th with a tie game and they bring out the tarp and proactively delay the game before it starts raining

The Cardinals lost their starting catcher, starting pitcher and manager before the end of the Top of the 1st tonight.

Happ’s follow through hit Contreras in the head causing a nasty cut forcing him from the game.

Mikolas hit Happ in the hip area in retaliation, which Happ knew and took his base. Umpires got together and tossed Mikolas with no warning.

Marmol objected and was tossed.

TBF retaliating against a follow-through sounds like an insta-toss to me (unless there's reason to believe it was deliberate).

The issue I had was Mikolas threw a pitch up and in the first pitch after the incident and the umpires said and did nothing. The next pitch hit him in the butt and he was tossed.

If the umpires believe retaliation then why not issue a warning on a pitch that was more “dangerous” than the one that got him tossed

I don’t believe Happ tried to hit him deliberately but as a batter you need to be in control of your swing and follow through/backswing and this one was pretty careless resulting in a player receiving stitches (actually glue) to close a cut.
