Preston, Lancashire (AP) - Nottingham Forest dropped a wild 4-3 decision on Tuesday evening to Preston North End after a wild comeback, leading to a heartbreaking defeat. Ched Evans goal in the second minute of injury time sent Preston North End onto victory in a match that saw five yellow cards and one red card to go along with seven goals.

Anass Zaroury got things going in the third minute taking a pass from Robert Navarro, splitting the defense and scoring to put Nottingham Forest up 1-nil. But Braian Ojeda would pick up two yellow cards in a stretch of eight minutes and was sent off in the 26th minute, leaving Nottingham Forest a man down over the final 64 plus minutes.

Just five minutes later, Preston North End would find their equalizer as Daniel Johnson got his head onto a deflected cross and directed past Milan Borjan to level the match.

An entertaining opening half but it was mild in comparison to the wild second half. In the 48th minute PNE would grab their first lead as Emil Riis would strike a left footed shot from inside the penalty area and into the top right corner. Ched Evans would then make it 3-1 in the 78th minute after working a pretty give and go with Daniel Johnson that freed him of his marker and he easily struck it past Milan Borjan for what looked like an insurance goal.

But down a man, Nottingham Forest stormed back with goals from Jack Colback in the 82nd minute and Joao Carvalho in the 89th minute to level the match. It looked like it was destined to be a well deserved draw and a point for both sides.

But wait, Ched Evans and Daniel Johnson worked a perfect give and go at the top of the box that left Evans free and he made no mistakes, burying it in the right side netting to put Preston North End in front in the second minute of injury time.

Preston North End (14-10-10, 52 pts) would hold onto move five points clear of Nottingham Forest (13-8-13, 47 pts), who have now dropped three of four after a ten match unbeaten streak.

Daniel Johnson earned Man of the Match honors with a 7.7 match rating. He scored a goal, assisted on the other three and had five shots with four on target.

Nottingham Forest has little time to sulk as they entertain Bristol City (9-8-17, 35 pts) on Saturday at the City Ground and then host Newcastle United on Tuesday in the fifth round of the Emirates FA Cup.

West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire (AP) - Nottingham Forest got some magnificent play from Milan Borjan in goal as they stun Newcastle United 1-nil to advance to the quarterfinals of the Emirates FA Cup on Tuesday evening. Phillip Zinckernagel's goal in the 40th minute proved to be the difference as Nottingham Forest advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time since 1995-96 when they lost to Aston Villa.

Nottingham Forest appeared to play on the front foot for most of this match, asking most of the questions in the opening half. Milan Borjan came up with a couple of big saves on the only Newcastle United first half chances to keep it scoreless.

In the 40th minute, Robert Navarro fed Phillip Zinckernagel with a beautiful pass that set him free up the right side. He raced in a fired a shot just inside of the far post to put Nottingham Forest in front in what seemed like a fair outcome of the opening 45 minutes.

Nottingham Forest would really keep their shape in the second half, buckling down on the defensive end and allowing very few good chances for Newcastle. Newcastle United would outshoot Nottingham Forest 15-13 with a 7-6 advantage in on target attempts, but most of these were easy saves for Milan Borjan. Nottingham Forest controlled the ball though, holding possession for 70% of the match.

Milan Borjan earned Man of the Match honors with his six saves on seven on target shots. He was helped by the woodwork in the 88th minute off of a header by Callum Wilson.

Nottingham Forest returns to Championship action on Saturday as they will travel to take on first place Sheffield United. Sheffield United won the first meeting 2-nil at City Ground back in early November.

FA Cup Fifth Round Results:
Burnley 0:1 Brighton & Hove ALbion
Liverpool 1:2 West Ham United
Watford 0:3 Wolverhampton
Peterborough United 0:1 Manchester United
Coventry City 0:2 Everton
Norwich City 3:1 Queens Park Rangers
Salford City 3:2 Tottenham Hotspur
