La Parka is in the ring. Hector Garza comes out, and challenges him to a match tonight. The challenge is accepted.

Segment Rating 2.5*


La Parka vs Hector Garza.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Garza takes a snap suplex from La Parka. Hector Garza pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Hector Garza connects with a back heel kick on Parka and gets back up quickly. La Parka charges, Garza moves, and the referee is knocked silly! Springboard dropkick from Hector Garza. Nicely done. Hooks the leg, but the referee is still out! Parka counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! La Parka snap suplexes Garza HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Parka is now a bonifide HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Sloppy short range spear from La Parka. There's a two count on the pin. Parka hits a badly done swinging DDT on Hector Garza. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Garza counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. SUPER frankensteiner on Parka, who hit hard and is loopy as a result. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Hector Garza misses a clothesline. La Parka moves in for the kill. La Parkinator!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! La Parka goes into the crowd, where he celebrates his victory

Chavo Guerrero Jr is backstage. He wanted to rip into Kidman. Not literally, of course. That would just be nasty. Instead, this was a good way to build up to an eventual match.

Kidman vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Chavo Guerrero Jr connects with a back heel kick on Kidman and gets back up quickly. Spinning back kick from Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Chavo Guerrero Jr hits a rolling kick on Kidman. Konnan has ruined any chance for me ever enjoying this maneuver again with his ****ty execution of it. Chavo goes for a splash but Kidman puts the knees up. Hard back suplex on Chavo. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Kidman crushes Chavo with a running senton. Hooks the leg for a two count. Chavo powers out of a headlock. SUPER frankensteiner on Kidman, who hit hard and is loopy as a result. Covers for a quick two count. Power drive elbow by Chavo Guerrero Jr. That sounds like a feature on a 4 x 4, doesn't it. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Chavo Guerrero Jr gets taken down out of nowhere! Kidman connects with a back heel kick on Chavo and gets back up quickly. Chavo Guerrero Jr comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Chavo uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! Kidman can barely stand. Here it comes - Brainbuster. 1....2...3, it's finished. Chavo Guerrero Jr remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

Glacier is in the ring, when The Flock run down and hit the ring. They swarm all over him and beat him down. When Raven is satisfied with the beating, they back off and head back toward the locker room, their point made.

Glacier vs Lodi.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Lodi hits a soaring kick on Glacier. Lodi uses a running dropkick into the corner. That was just...ugh. Hooks the leg for a two count. Glacier blocks a kick from Lodi. Glacier strikes Lodi. Glacier strikes Lodi with a hard blow. Covers for a quick two count. Sloppy discus punch from Glacier barely connects on Lodi. Pin, but Lodi is out just before the three count. Glacier hits a right hand on Lodi. Glacier goes for a splash but Lodi puts the knees up. Back heel kick from Lodi on Glacier but it misses by miles. Covers for a quick two count. Lodi with an enziguri! HBK isn't moving...uh oh. Oh, sorry, I had a flashback to the last time I got fooled. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Lodi hits a spinning back kick. All those spinning kicks look alike, don't they. Lodi hits a quick kick on Glacier. Lodi misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Glacier hits a right hand on Lodi. Sloppy discus punch from Glacier barely connects on Lodi. Lodi can barely stand. Cyclone Kick!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Glacier climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Jimmy Hart is backstage with The Faces of Fear. Jimmy Hart wanted to tear Ray \ Smiley a new one. What the new one exactly is remains a mystery, however. The Faces of Fear stood menacingly in the back.

Norman Smiley and Stevie Ray vs The Faces of Fear.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Meng gets slammed down hard and winces in pain. Norman Smiley with a spinning neckbreaker on Meng. There's a two count on the pin. Meng pushes out of a Norman Smiley hold. Smiley takes a vertical suplex, but pops right back up. Weak bodyslam by Meng. Tag between Meng and The Barbarian. Side suplex from Barbarian. Could have been done a hell of a lot better though. Smiley reverses a The Barbarian hammerlock. Tag between Norman Smiley and Stevie Ray. Barbarian hits a punch, but takes one right back. Again! A slugfest erupts in the ring! Ray slams The Barbarian down. Barbarian is sure in trouble now. There's a two count on the pin. Powerslam from Stevie Ray on Barbarian. Tag between Stevie Ray and Norman Smiley. Death valley driver (not to be confused with the DVD 500) by Norman Smiley connects and The Barbarian is down! Pin, but Barbarian is out just before the three count. The Barbarian powers out of a Norman Smiley headlock. Boring brawling from The Barbarian is the cure for insomnia. Barbarian tags out to Meng. Smiley gets splashed in the corner. Meng has Norman Smiley down on the canvas. Norman Smiley gets locked in the Tongan Death Grip! Submission victory! The Faces of Fear signal to each other...and they attack Smiley \ Ray! After an swift brawl, Smiley and Ray are left down in the ring.

Dean Malenko vs Fit Finlay.

Match Background: None.

The Match: STIFF~! chop lights up Malenko who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! Flying shoulder tackle by Finlay sends Malenko CRASHING to the mat. Hooks the leg for a two count. Finlay drops an elbow...but Dean Malenko moves out of the way. THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Dropkick connects to the butt of the jaw and Finlay goes down. Malenko hits a dropkick on Fit Finlay and gets right back up. Fit Finlay avoids a Dean Malenko avalanche by getting out of the damn way! Fit Finlay hits a bulldog off the ropes. Dean Malenko can barely stand. Here it comes - Piledriver. 1....2...3, it's finished. Fit Finlay remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

Match Rating 3*


Chris Jericho is walking backstage, when he meets Chris Benoit. They trade insults, get in each others faces, but eventually walk off without coming to blows.

Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Hard back suplex on Jericho. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Gutwrench into a stomach breaker. Jericho may be winded. Covers for a quick two count. Benoit goes for a splash but Jericho puts the knees up. Standing leg lariat by Chris Jericho on Benoit. Jericho uses a basement dropkick to the knee and it looks like it might be TIME TO GO TO SCHOOL~! There's a two count on the pin. Tiger suplex on Benoit. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, Bloody Hell! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Flying elbow from Chris Jericho connects. Chris Benoit pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Benoit almost belly-to-belly suplexes Chris Jericho through the mat. What? It's possible. There's a two count on the pin. Death valley driver (not to be confused with the DVD 500) by Chris Benoit connects and Chris Jericho is down! Pin, but Jericho is out just before the three count. Flying elbow from Chris Benoit connects. Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Chris Benoit ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Chris Benoit comes over...but Jericho grabs him by the tights and uses the leverage to slingshot Chris Benoit face first into the exposed steel turnbuckle! Chris Jericho rolls up the stunned Chris Benoit: 1....2...3! How did the referee not see that? Chris Jericho slides out of the ring to the floor, then turns and leaves through the crowd. He's happy to have the win, and evidently isn't going to hang around for Benoit to get some payback.

Booker T is in the ring, and makes an open challenge for anyone to come out and face him. Out from the back comes the debuting Keiji Muto. He hits the ring and attacks. Keiji Muto moves in for the kill. Here it comes - Shining Wizard. Booker got beaten down by the debuting Keiji Muto.

Booker T vs Keiji Muto.

Match Background: Muto is making his debut at this show. Booker T is the reigning WCW Television champion.

The Match: Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Booker T ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Muto takes a headbutt from Booker T. Fallaway slam by Booker T puts down Keiji Muto. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Keiji Muto by Booker. Remember when that was a legit finish? Muto reverses a waistlock. Spin kick by Keiji Muto to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. Muto crushes Booker with a running senton. There's a two count on the pin. Keiji Muto gets taken down out of nowhere! Nice piledriver on Muto. There's a two count on the pin. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Muto! Pin, but Muto is out just before the three count. Muto counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Muto hits a HARD spinning kick to the jaw. Booker T comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Booker slams Keiji Muto down and motions to the crowd. Booker T moves in for the kill. Harlem Hangover!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Booker T climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Scott Hall is backstage. He always delivers the promo goodness. He wanted to rip into Rowdy Roddy Piper. Not literally, of course. That would just be nasty. Instead, this was a good way to build up to an eventual match.

Rick Steiner vs Konnan.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Konnan connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. Steiner ducks a wild right hand. Big forearm by Rick Steiner makes me want to go to the mirror and check MY teeth. Rick Steiner misses a clothesline...and takes out the referee accidentally! Rick Steiner brings out a jumping powerbomb to nearly murder Konnan in the ring! Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Konnan elbows Rick Steiner in the face to break a hammerlock. Big dropkick by Konnan, who got a ton of air on the move. Tiger bomb by Konnan, which is nowhere near as cool as a botched Pedigree but gets the job done. Hooks the leg for a two count. Konnan brings out a jumping powerbomb to nearly murder Steiner in the ring! Pin, but Steiner is out just before the three count. Konnan gets taken down out of nowhere! Tiger bomb by Rick Steiner, which is nowhere near as cool as a botched Pedigree but gets the job done. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Konnan backdrops Rick Steiner out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Konnan. Scott Norton comes running down the aisle with a chair! Konnan goes to irish whip Rick Steiner into the ropes. Norton hits Steiner with a chair to the back! Konnan floors Rick Steiner. Rick Steiner gets locked in the Tequila Sunrise! Submission victory! Konnan \ Norton are beating down on Rick Steiner! The music of Scott Steiner hits, and he comes running down the aisle into the ring. Konnan and Norton bail out of the ring, leaving Rick Steiner down in the ring. Scott Steiner may have saved Rick Steiner from a brutal beating.

Bret Hart is backstage. He always delivers the promo goodness. He was out there to hype a match against Hollywood Hogan. Good way to get the fans interested in what is coming up.

Bret Hart vs Hollywood Hogan.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Stun Gun from Bret Hart! I still can't believe that was Austin's finisher at one point. Hollywood Hogan got absolutely creamed by a KILLER back suplex. Hooks the leg for a two count. Bret Hart misses a clothesline. The Hitman receives some punishment by Hollywood Hogan but with that horrid offense, we're the only ones truly being punished. Hollywood Hogan strikes Bret Hart with a hard blow. Covers for a quick two count. Side suplex from Hogan. Pin, but The Hitman is out just before the three count. Hogan slams Bret Hart down. The Hitman is sure in trouble now. Bret Hart elbows Hollywood Hogan in the face to break a hammerlock. T-Bone suplex by The Hitman, Hogan got folded in half to the point that he was almost able to fellate himself. Mighty impressive, don't you think? Hooks the leg for a two count. Blind lariat by The Hitman was downright NASTY! Hogan never...saw...it coming! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. A Gut buster connects on Hogan and hits hard. Bret Hart gets up and gives a Belly to belly suplex to The Hitman. Hollywood Hogan is able to duck a clothesline attempt and connect with a counter clothesline. Hollywood Hogan hits a right hand on Bret Hart. Hogan DDTs Bret Hart. Buff Bagwell comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Bret Hart turns around. Buff Bagwell slams The Hitman down. Buff Bagwell climbs to the top rope and hits the Buff Blockbuster! Bagwell leaves the ring, the damage done! ONE...TWO...THREE. Hogan defeats The Hitman. Hogan and Bagwell tie Bret Hart up in the ropes, then start punching away at him until referees run down and break it up.

Match Rating 4*


Rowdy Roddy Piper is backstage. He always delivers the promo goodness. He was out there to hype a match against Scott Hall. Good way to get the fans interested in what is coming up.

Scott Hall vs Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Scott Hall by Hot Rod. Remember when that was a legit finish? Massive backbreaker on Hall and I get happy flashbacks to Bret Hart's Five Moves of DOOM. There's a two count on the pin. Hall ducks a wild right hand. Hot Rod is a glutton for punishment and just continues to take it during this match. Running knee lift from Scott Hall. Hooks the leg for a two count. Spear! Hot Rod is down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Running knee lift from Scott Hall. Hot Rod reverses a waistlock. Spear by Rowdy Roddy Piper. There's a two count on the pin. Brutal sit out powerbomb on Hall! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Rowdy Roddy Piper with a spinning neckbreaker on Hall. Hot Rod scoops and slams Scott Hall. What's the difference between a scoop slam and a body slam anyway? Hall blocks a punch. Rowdy Roddy Piper charges into the corner, but EATS BOOT and staggers backward. Death valley driver (not to be confused with the DVD 500) by Scott Hall connects and Rowdy Roddy Piper is down! Curt Hennig comes running down the aisle with a chair! Hall and Rowdy Roddy Piper continue fighting, unaware of the intrusion. Curt Hennig slides in and blasts Rowdy Roddy Piper with a chair to the head! Hennig climbs out of the ring, the damage done! Scott Hall moves in for the kill. Outsider's Edge! 1....2....3. Hall and Hennig beat away on Rowdy Roddy Piper, leaving him spread-eagled on the canvas.

WCW officials are regretful to inform fans, that Bret Hart has suffered a broken leg and will be out of action for the next 7 months.

We wish him a speedy recovery, and wait to see who could step up and fill the large hole left in the main event picture.

Glacier is walking backstage when Kidman comes from behind and attacks him with a chair. Kidman walks off after hitting a few more chair shots, leaving Glacier down on the floor.

Match Background: None.

Glacier misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Springboard reverse elbow by Kidman. Excellent move. Looks like Muta has giving out lessons. There's a two count on the pin. Springboard dropkick from Kidman. Nicely done. Pin, but Glacier is out just before the three count. Spin kick by Kidman to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. STIFF high kick on Glacier by Kidman. Glacier ducks a wild right hand. Glacier with a badly-executed spinning neckbreaker on Kidman. One more performed that badly and this match will end on a bad note, if you get my drift. Glacier turns Kidman inside-out with a clothesline. Reminds me of Willow's 'Bored Now' skin ripping finisher. Inside joke, don't worry about it. Kidman is in trouble. Cyclone Kick! 1....2....3. Glacier climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Match Background: Public Enemy are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion.

The Match: STIFF~! chop lights up Flyboy who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! Fallaway slam by Mortis puts down Rocco Rock. There's a two count on the pin. Tag between Mortis and Wrath. Ghosts and Ghouls whip Flyboy into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. Covers for a quick two count. Flyboy gets splashed in the corner. Rocco Rock powers out of a Wrath headlock. Weak bodyslam by Flyboy. Hooks the leg for a two count. Tag between Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge. Grunge hits a piledriver on Wrath. I know I wouldn't let someone that bad give me a piledriver. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Big kick from Grunge staggers Wrath but that's about it. Wrath blocks a kick from Johnny Grunge. Running clothesline from Wrath was actually MIGHTY sloppy. Wrath tags out to Mortis. Mortis slams Johnny Grunge. Grunge tags out to Rocco Rock. Mortis with a spinning neckbreaker on Flyboy. Mortis moves in for the kill. I'm Betta Than You!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Ghosts and Ghouls remain in the ring, celebrating their victory.

Chavo Guerrero Jr is backstage. He was on Hype Central (HYPE CENTRAL!!!) tonight, this time for a match with Lodi. Can you believe that I just marked out for Lance Wright? How many people even remember that guy?

The Match: Chavo walks into a spinning heel kick which almost causes a decapitation! Back heel kick from Lodi on Chavo. Hooks the leg for a two count. Chavo backdrops Lodi out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo just WAFFLES Lodi with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Chavo hits a dropkick on Lodi and gets right back up. Hooks the leg for a two count. Back heel kick off the second rope, Lodi goes down. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Implant DDT by Chavo Guerrero Jr! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Lodi counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Lodi uses a running dropkick into the corner. That was just...ugh. Hooks the leg for a two count. Flying knee to the face from Lodi. For the record it was more of a Rusty Wizard than a Shining one. Has anyone's face ever really been crushed by one though? Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Chris Benoit snap suplexes Muto HARD to the canvas! And again! A pair of clotheslines follow and...yep, Benoit is a HOUSE...EN...FUEGO~! Benoit walks into a drop toe hold. SUPER frankensteiner on Benoit, who hit hard and is loopy as a result. Covers for a quick two count. Tiger suplex on Benoit. No Misawa references from me, I swear. Oh, dammit. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Second rope flying axe handle, Benoit goes down. One day, Muto might even consider coming off the top with that. The Match: Trying to channel the spirit of Misawa, Raven ends up chanelling Lex Luger instead and nails a running forearm to the face, minus the steel plate, of course. Davey Boy flips out of a Raven bodyslam attempt. Davey Boy hits a right hand. Davey Boy whips Raven into the turnbuckles...and the ref is crushed! Powerbomb on Raven. Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Davey Boy goes for a splash but Raven puts the knees up. Flying shoulder tackle by Raven sends Davey Boy CRASHING to the mat. Full nelson slam on Davey Boy. Hooks the leg for a two count. Raven scores with a standing spinebuster. Pin, but Davey Boy is out just before the three count. Davey Boy flips out of a Raven bodyslam attempt. Full nelson slam on Raven. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Raven is able to duck a clothesline attempt and connect with a counter clothesline. Kidman comes running down the aisle with a chair! Raven whips Davey Boy Smith into the ropes. Kidman jumps onto the apron with the chair! Collision between Kidman, Davey Boy, and the chair! Davey Boy Smith staggers back into a roll up! 1...2...3! It's over! Raven, having taken the victory thanks to the outside interference of Kidman, goes over and shakes hands with him, showing that their plan was a success.

Booker T misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. A Gut buster connects on Booker and hits hard. Covers for a quick two count. Reverse DDT on Booker. Covers for a quick two count. Booker reverses a Steven Regal hammerlock. Spinebuster by Booker T. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Regal backdrops Booker T out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Steven Regal. Regal reverses an irish whip...and Booker T runs into the referee! Steven Regal scores with a standing spinebuster. Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Steven Regal hits a bulldog off the ropes. Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Booker counters a backdrop attempt with a kick to the face and hit a clothesline! Steven Regal can barely stand. Here it comes - Harlem Hangover. 1....2...3, it's finished. Booker T goes into the crowd, where he celebrates his victory

Jimmy Hart is backstage with The Faces of Fear. Jimmy Hart was on hype duty tonight, this time for a match against Ghosts and Ghouls.

Match Background: The Faces of Fear are one of the most experienced teams in the promotion.

The Match: Meng strikes Mortis. Big kick from Meng staggers Mortis but that's about it. There's a two count on the pin. Meng tags out to The Barbarian. The Faces of Fear whip Mortis into the ropes and hit a double back elbow. Hooks the leg for a two count. The Barbarian strikes Mortis. Mortis flips out of a The Barbarian bodyslam attempt. Nice piledriver on Barbarian. Covers for a quick two count. Mortis tags out to Wrath. Wrath DDTs Barbarian, but it just looked terrible. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Weak bodyslam on Barbarian by Wrath sets up a legdrop. The Barbarian fights out of a grapple. Big forearm by Barbarian draws laughter from the crowd because it was THAT bad. Tag between The Barbarian and Meng. Meng hits Wrath. Wrath tags out to Mortis. Meng hits a right hand on Mortis. Mortis gets knocked to the ground by Meng. Here it comes...Tongan Death Grip! Mortis taps! The Faces of Fear remain in the ring, celebrating their victory.

Kevin Nash is backstage. He was out there to hype a match against Ric Flair. Good way to get the fans interested in what is coming up.

Scott Steiner vs Perry Saturn.

Match Background: None.

The Match: STIFF~! chop lights up Saturn who covers up to try and stop the agonizing PAIN! Saturn blocks the suplex attempt and is able to hit the suplex instead! Perry Saturn snap suplexes Poppa Pump. Scott Steiner charges, Saturn moves, and the referee is knocked silly! Wicked suplex out of the corner from Perry Saturn, is executed so well, it hurt MY back. Pinfall attempt, but the ref is out and can't count to three! Poppa Pump reverses a Perry Saturn hammerlock. Bodyslam by Poppa Pump. Scott Steiner hits a bulldog off the ropes. There's a two count on the pin. Northern Lights Bomb very nearly crushes the spine of Saturn! Cover, ONE...TWO...NO! I honestly thought that match was going to end right then and there. Saturn counters a sleeper with a jaw breaker and is able to get free! Poppa Pump walks into a jaw breaker. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Scott Steiner comes up with a right hand out of nowhere. Perry Saturn is in trouble. Frankensteiner!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Scott Steiner climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Ric Flair is backstage. He always delivers the promo goodness. He was on Hype Central (HYPE CENTRAL!!!) tonight, this time for a match with Kevin Nash. Can you believe that I just marked out for Lance Wright? How many people even remember that guy?

Match Background: None.

The Match: Nash scoops and slams Ric Flair. What's the difference between a scoop slam and a body slam anyway? Flair counters an arm wringer with an elbow to the side of the head. Ric Flair snap suplexes Nash. Flair whips Nash into the turnbuckles...and the ref is crushed! Belly to belly off the top rope! Cover, but there's no one to count for Ric Flair! Nash flips out of a Ric Flair bodyslam attempt. Flying shoulder tackle by Nash sends Flair CRASHING to the mat. Flair walks into a side slam. Think about how much talent it takes to side slam someone. Nash can do it. Hooks the leg for a two count. Death valley driver (not to be confused with the DVD 500) by Kevin Nash connects and Ric Flair is down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! Flair blocks a kick from Kevin Nash. Tiger bomb by Ric Flair, which is nowhere near as cool as a botched Pedigree but gets the job done. Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Ric Flair misses a clothesline. Scott Hall comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Ric Flair turns around. Scott Hall spins Flair around. Scott Hall hits the Outsider's Edge! Hall leaves the ring, the damage done! Cover gets three for Kevin Nash, Flair got pinned. The Outsiders are beating down on Ric Flair! The music of Sting hits, and he comes running down the aisle into the ring. Nash and Hall bail out of the ring, leaving Ric Flair down in the ring. Sting may have saved Ric Flair from a brutal beating.

I've been doing a WCW '98 game (starting Dec. '97) on TEW16 so cool to see one getting done in EWR! That broken leg really sucks for Bret but it might be a blessing in disguise - WCW had no idea what to do with him so kinda getting him a fresh start heading into 1999 might be just what the doctor ordered. Little comment on the releases: I just watched SuperBrawl VIII recently and Martel was in amazing shape prior to that injury and put on a great match with Booker. It's a shame he never reached those heights again after he got hurt.

yeah the bret thing sucked, had some plans for him

as for martel, unfortunately his stats arent that great, and already being in his 40s, and already the wcw roster in game is kind of old so tried to cut some

Stevie Ray is backstage. He wanted to rip into Scott Norton. Not literally, of course. That would just be nasty. Instead, this was a good way to build up to an eventual match.

Segment Rating 2.5*


Stevie Ray vs Scott Norton.

Match Background: None.

The Match: A weak headbutt on Norton by Ray causes nothing but pain for both. Scott Norton takes a right hand to the temple from Ray. I bet those hurt more than Sgt. Slaughter's Noogies. Running clothesline from Stevie Ray was actually MIGHTY sloppy. Stevie Ray strikes Scott Norton with a hard blow. Scott Norton elbows Stevie Ray in the face to break a hammerlock. Rude Awakening neckbreaker on Stevie Ray by Norton. Remember when that was a legit finish? Norton hits a piledriver on Stevie Ray. That used to end matches, you know. There's a two count on the pin. Ray pushes out of a Scott Norton hold. Weak bodyslam by Ray. There's a two count on the pin. Stevie Ray scores with a poor standing spinebuster. Pin, but Norton is out just before the three count. Ray drops an elbow...but Scott Norton moves out of the way. Scott Norton connects with rights and lefts and Stevie Ray is down! Stevie Ray elbows Scott Norton in the face to break a hammerlock. Stevie Ray strikes Scott Norton with a hard blow. Scott Norton can barely stand. Slapjack!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Stevie Ray climbs each turnbuckle in turn, working the crowd as he celebrates his victory

Match Background: None.

The Match: Flying shoulder tackle by Smiley sends Kidman CRASHING to the mat. Spear by Norman Smiley. There's a two count on the pin. Kidman reverses a waistlock. Spinning back kick from Kidman. Spin kick by Kidman to the face sends the opponent FLYING across the ring. There's a two count on the pin. DDT from the top rope by Kidman. That looked KILLER! Hooks the leg! ONE...TWO...NO! Flying elbow from Kidman connects. Smiley backdrops Kidman out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Norman Smiley. Big piledriver on Kidman. There's a two count on the pin. High Angle DDT by Norman Smiley just SPIKES Kidman down! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Running knee lift from Norman Smiley. Smiley hits a right hand. Norman Smiley misses a big legdrop after stalling too long. Hard back suplex on Smiley. Come to think of it, that move had WAY too much power in No Mercy for N64. Springboard dropkick from Kidman. Nicely done. Lodi comes running down the aisle and into the ring! Norman Smiley turns around. Lodi slams Smiley down. Lodi climbs to the top rope and hits the Splash! Lodi leaves the ring, the damage done! ONE...TWO...THREE. Kidman defeats Smiley. Kidman and Lodi tie Norman Smiley up in the ropes, then start punching away at him until referees run down and break it up.

Yuji Nagata is in the ring. La Parka comes out, and challenges him to a match tonight. The challenge is accepted.

La Parka vs Yuji Nagata.

Match Background: None.

The Match: Yuji Nagata arm drags Parka over and locks on an armbar. Badly executed second rope splash by Nagata. There's a two count on the pin. La Parka powers out of a Yuji Nagata headlock. La Parka slams Nagata down and decides on what to do next. Parka suplexes Nagata to the canvas and floats over. Covers for a quick two count. Parka hits a badly done swinging DDT on Yuji Nagata. Pin, but Nagata is out just before the three count. Yuji Nagata walks into a chop to the pecs. Ouchy. Nagata powers out of a headlock. Back heel kick from Nagata on Parka but it misses by miles. Hooks the leg for a two count. Yuji Nagata with an enziguri! HBK isn't moving...uh oh. Oh, sorry, I had a flashback to the last time I got fooled. Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Nagata hits a spinning back kick. All those spinning kicks look alike, don't they. La Parka gets hip tossed by Nagata. Parka blocks a punch. Double leg takedown from La Parka sets up a ground and pound in the middle of the ring. What the hell is this, UFC? Parka hits a badly done swinging DDT on Yuji Nagata. Yuji Nagata is in trouble. La Parkinator!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! La Parka remains in the ring, celebrating the victory.

Glacier is backstage. He was out there to hype a match against Chavo Guerrero Jr. Good way to get the fans interested in what is coming up.
