Founded in 1912, FSV Zwickau is a German football club located in Zwickau, Saxony. Known as Die Schwäne (The Swans), they currently compete in the 3rd tier of German football, the 3. Liga. As part of a complex history, the club claims the first East German title in 1948 and another in 1950, as well as East German Cup winners in 1963, 1967, and 1975. Since German reunification in 1990, the club most notably won promotion to the 2. Bundesliga in 1994 and re-emerged in the 3rd tier at the completion of the 2016 season.
